    Sitting is killing you

    Yikes!

Every hour sitting knocks 22 minutes off your life ... twice the impact of a cigarette!

Better start selling armchairs with health warnings.

Aha. But if you follow the link the actual reports say that every hour watching telly knocks 21.8 minutes off your life. There's some bad reporting going on there. Or rather just adaption for effect.

Sitting for to long is very bad for you, that has been known for years. But, as long as you stretch, take breaks and exercice you'll be fine.

Then why not keep yourself fit, so you won't be helpless or senile? Most people slow down in their older years, and that is what makes them slow, and helpless. Keeping yourself fit works wonders.

Interesting and weird, but screw it. We have an expiration date after all and, as Windfury just alluded, pretty much everything we do has an effect of our shelf-life. Everything we do seems to kill us a little bit. Just have to make the most of the time we do have after the sun damage, cholesterol, relaxing (according to this article) and all the other stuff.

Yeah ive heard this a few times, it seems like one of those things that would just ruin your life if you tried to avoid though, imagine never wanting to sit down. You would never be able to go to the cinema, play games, relax with friends etc etc.
All things in moderation as always, so long as your exercising daily i wouldnt worry much.

Why am I back here, I don't even play these games anymore

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.

What's even more shocking is this little factoid.

Did you know that for every second you're alive you're actually lessening your overall life.

I think you'll find sitting for one hour knocks one hour off of your remaining lifetime.

Suprise, we're actually meant to live to be 203 but all this sitting to learn, eat, drink, take leisure and inform ourselves with news is killing us by 73...
Gear Score is a good representation of skill, enchants, and gems...NOH! WAI-....

    I FUCKING KNEW IT

But seriously, this is the reason why I stand up on busses and trains, so while I might sit entire weekends on my arse, at least I save 44 minutes of my life everyday when commuting to school. Not that I care too much.

Is it really?...then i shall sit here for the whole day to raise awareness

Sitting behind a PC helps as it keeps your brain busy.
