    Components ramdom shut down!

Monitor, keyboard, and mouse just randomly shut off. No power to mouse, and keyboard. Power to monitor but no picture. Computer comtinues to run though.
    Its a Gateway LX6810-01
replaced vid card with a GTX660Ti
and power sup with a Rockfish 500w

Thats all ive done, this just started happening the other day. Not all the time thought either, just randomly. Usually after the first start up of the day. Im thinking the vid card is to much for the MB. Among other things being out dated. Thanks for any help.

Don't know your full setup so can't answer you with 100% certainty, but I will give it a go still.

Do you have any power saving features turned on in BIOS? Is your BIOS up to date? Your PSU might not be delivering enough power to your system at full load shutting down stuff like USB controllers to stay on.

(Your MB could also have gotten a static shock or something, messing up the board)

A motherboard not handling a graphics card doesn't really exist unless the motherboard is 25% doa.

I rather think the PSU is a big problem. Rocketfish might review good enough and passing the tests but doesn't mean it's going to work after years good enough.

The only choice for a PSU is just seasonic, nothing else.

Yeah you're right, Antec & Corsair PSUs are garbage.

Aren't the new versions of the TX650 made by CWT? Not the v2. From my understanding they are phasing out v2 and the new 650's aren't made by Seasonic. But I could be wrong.

I think their newest is actually the tx650m and the tx650 v2. The modular one is being made by cwt.

Normally corsair takes old products off their website. I have the silver version of the hx850 and it's taken out so.

    Yeah, I did a little search and both the TX650 and 650 V2 were/are made by seasonic. Now there is only V2, but it isn't labeled as V2. TX650 (75-001315 / CP-9020038)

    I was kind of confused.
