New Computer Issue

so i've just finished building my first computer, it was fairly easy nothing really went wrong, i've set up all the drivers for it bit there is a problem with my display, there is roughly a 3-4 cm boarder of just blacked out screen around the actual display, it used to use this space, it's set on 1920x1080 and i've used it before on my previous computer and it worked perfectly i don't know exactly what went wrong, if it helps the monitor is a BenQ E2420 i don't know what else to do any help would be greatly appreciated.
