I haven't listened to a whole lot this year but a few stand outs for me:
1) Anaal Nathrakh - Vanitas
2) Pig Destroyer - Book Burner
3) Neurosis - Honour Found In Decay
4) Napalm Death - Utilitarian
5) Ihsahn - Eremita
That's probably my top 5 currently.

I think The Heist - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis also deserves a nod. Thrift Shop is a nice creative song, and Same Love has incredible lyrics. Definitely one of my favorites of the year.
