    PC Build Advice

    Hey guys,

I have always had great advice from this forums so have come again to ask you for your help. I will be building a gaming PC mainly for BF3 and Guild Wars 2. For Guild Wars 2 I mainly play WvWvW so lots of stuff going on. I would like to run both at high specs and will probably be at 1920*1080 or 1920*1200. I will not be overclocking this system so chose locked CPU and Mobo.

Here is what I have so far, just wanted to check to see if this looks good or if I should change any pieces. I live in Spain so will not be ordering from NewEgg but I linked there for easy reference

    1. CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116506
    2. GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB GDDR5 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125419
    3. RAM: Corsair Vengeance XMP PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233180
    4. Mobo:Asus P8H77-M LE - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131831R
    5. PSU: Corsair*CX600 V2 -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139028
    6. HDD: OCZ Agility 3 SATA3 2.5" SSD 60GB* - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2%20SSD%2060GB
    7. Case: Corsair Carbide 200R - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Carbide%20200R

I have also looked at the NZXT Phantom 410 but it depends on my budget http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146092

After reviewing the pieces I realised the Motherboard is Micro ATX. I have not had any experience mounting these. If there are any issues with the chosen pieces or people think this is a bad idea can you let me know?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I would definitely recommend these PSUs instead:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151119

And this for a case if you can stretch the budget:

    Otherwise solid.

    Hey Tetris,

Any reasoning behing the PSU change? I picked this one as it was recommended by Toms Hardware on their $1000 system.

That case is not available for Spain but thanks for the suggestion

I don't see why the XFX one would be better than the Corsair (aside from 5 year warranty), But I understand the reasoning behind the Seasonic: It's modular. Makes cable management WAY easier.

The micro board should be fine. It's just less board so things will feel crammed in there.
    Intel i5 3470 | MSI z77a-g41 | SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 | Crucial Ballistix sport 8GB | OCZ Vertex 3 (90GB)

I have been looking around and apart from being cheaper the XFX also gets better reviews all round for reliability. The Corsair is very good all round but lots of people are having issues with dead PSU or unstable voltages on the rails. I will go with the XFX then.

If all else looks good to everyone then I will order all pieces today

    Thanks all round

The CX series is less than good. The cx 600 is an overspecced 480w psu.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for all the help, I was about to order everything when I got a pop up with the 7870 on offer for only a bit more. Any advice on whether it is worth it and if I will notice the extra power in game?

It would be a vs between:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102983 199 Euros

    and

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125419 183 Euros

So pissed off at the tax in Spain, things are so much cheaper in the US

If you can afford it go with the sapphire 7870. That specific Gigabyte 7850 has fan noise issues.
