Bloodthirsty xenophobes with persecution complexes seem very popular this year.
The correct answer, however, is Oralius.

Varian wrynn
Bolvar Fordragon, hands down. The only NPC this game ever made me feel anything for. From Vanilla until Cataclysm, he was the leader of the alliance.
Uther the Lightbringer.
The first paladin of the Knights of the Silver Hand order. One of the strongest if not the strongest paladins ever. He was also Arthas mentor. It required Arthas the death knight a raid to finally defeat him.
My favorite quote:
"I dearly hope that there's a special place in hell waiting for you, Arthas."
Me and Brann Bronzebeard get drunk and shag hookers every Sunday
Definitely the Lich King... his was a final boss fight done correctly.
After that it's Yogg-Saron, Thassarian, and Chen.
“Do not lose time on daily trivialities. Do not dwell on petty detail. For all of these things melt away and drift apart within the obscure traffic of time. Live well and live broadly. You are alive and living now. Now is the envy of all of the dead.” ~ Emily3, World of Tomorrow
Words to live by.
Banshee Queen, Leader of the Forsaken. Has one of my most favorite lore and called Arthas a "bitch" when she captured him. Plus I love the idea of archers using shadow magic and death as one of their weapons. Died fighting to protect her land, only to be raised and serve the army that destroyed her and her homeland. She's the best!
Grand Magister Rommath, hands down.
I have a strange mix of affection, sympathy and respect for the guy. It was nice to have him serve as my primary quest giver for once.

My avatar. Nuff said. It's a real shame for guys who haven't done his original quest chain.
Bigger than Life.
Mr. Bigglesworth.
Poor Cat.. always gets slaughtered every time anybody goes to Naxx.
Otherwise.. i'd probably say Man'krik.
Can't go wrong with Illidan
He made som wrong choices but overall he was one of the best characters in the Warcraft universe. Blizzard just ruined him after WC3.
Great Choices Everyone.
There is no hope without fear.
Archmage Vargoth of course. Because he was the only one that witnessed all our bosskills in TBC! (and wotlk). He was a true friend that never missed a single first kill. Oh the jokes he used to tell us when we were lining up for our killshots, epic times!
Kael'Thas. He should have been the king of Blood Elves. Such a shame the lore authors made him a puppet in the hands of Kil'Jaeden. I'm still mad at them (a bit).
Rincewind: Ah! We may, in fact, have reached the root of the problem. However it's a silly problem and so I am suddenly going to stop talking to you.
The better character questionnaire (D&D)
Cho. He's awesome!
honorable mention goes to Budd
