    Building a new PC

I figured its about time I got myself a christmas present and I'm looking into building a new pc, my budget isn't great (looking to spend no more than £600) and 20% VAT doesn't help either in the UK.

I came up with imgur com/0Bg2h.jpg for £560 but since I'm not really that clued up is there any other options I could get in my sort of budget?

    Thanks

(first build is what i would pick, mainly because I would never run a system without an SSD again)

Thanks for posting those. Is there anything majorly wrong with what I went with in my OP? I tried to base it on chaud's build of the month

Well you don't need a sound card. Your CPU choice is kinda outdated. PSU is decent at best. Wrong RAM and 1x4 isn't really optimal. Case is more a personal preference but I'm not a fan of that one and no front USB 3.0 (perhaps not a big deal to you), still not a bad choice if you like it though.

Hey thanks for the reply again. I'm looking at imgur com/lBs3b jpg and tinyurl com/cucowg5 for the memory.

Either is fine even though 7770 is kinda on the low end for a GPU. I'd try and get a 7850 or 650ti at least but again what you have will work.

second build has a 3570, if you could spend a little extra you can get the 3570k which is fully unlocked (for overclocking,) which is worth it in the long run. You need a Z77 instead then as well instead of the H77.

Hey thanks for the reply again. If I got the 3570k it wouldn't work with the H77 whatsoever?

It would work but you wouldn't be able to overclock much (if any) in the future. It wouldn't cost that much more though:

    ASRock Z77 Pro3 ~£75
