I know this is a bit over your budget, but it's significantly better.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($194.99 @ Amazon)
    Motherboard: ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($104.99 @ Newegg)
    Total: $299.98

For two hundred dollars and fifty dollars I would get a amd phenom 2 965

    Benchmarks vs the 6300

My friend has the same amd and his FPS never falls under 60fps with everything set at ultra except shadows on a 1080p monitor 23 inch monitor.

For motherboard you can get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128565 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157280

and then use the rest to buy some DDR 3 ram if you have ddr 2 ram here is some gskill 16 gigs http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231534

Depending on which motherboard you have already you can keep your ram and MB and save yourself the 150 and save up later for a next gen cpu and gpu build.
