[Balance] Help a Boomkin increase his DPS!

Posted for a friend of mine who feels he's hit a brick wall:

Hey guys, first of all let me thank anyone who takes the time to respond to me and give me advice. I am a lvl 90 boomkin, switched from resto a few months ago, and i feel like my dps is low. Here are a few of my logs:

I know i am only iLvL 485 but i feel like my dps should be higher, in fact i know i can pull more numbers but im not sure what im doing wrong.

My rotation is as follows
start 30 energy or less from lunar eclipse
starfall
wrath
pop cds - incarnation, natures vigil, mirror image
sunfire, moonfire
starsurge
reapply starfall
starfire (and starsurge when it procs or comes off cd)
celestial alignment
reapply moonfire
reapply starfall
starfire (unless starsurge procs or comes of CD)
and reapply moonfire before celestial alignment drops
than i follow the normal rotation for boomkin (starfire until solar/wrath until lunar etc.) until my cds are up again

If anyone could help i would really appricate it, thx guys.

stop using mirror images!

it eats a GCD and does less damage than even a single mushroom. and it's even worse if you're losing that global during your CDs :P

I'm fairly sure they're not on the GCD, actually.

Mirror images only use is to drop Boss aggro when you pull it accidentally. It is NOT for doing damage.

In my opinion - for your Ilvl your dmg done is right where it should be.
Maybe for Tayak it is a little low, but movement in this encounter does not favor boomkins.

I am not sure how much DPS you re expecting to be doing?

Just tested it. They are on GCD.

If you insist on taking mirror images (I prefer cloak of shadows or Unending resolve) Use it with pre pot before you pull, that way you wont pull aggro when you burst, and don't lose time during your CDs.

There is a little argument for using the eclipsed dot before the non eclipsed one. Its 1 stack of lunar shower vs. the eclipsed dot lasting right through until the next eclipse which varies greatly on your current haste and movement of the fight.

It's hard to compare your logs to ours, most of our bosses we kill on heroic, and that changes the fight alot, and our normal kills die alot faster.

That being said, Your burst at the start seems a bit lower, I not sure if you had all relevant buffs covered, but in cases where you burst for 150k all 3 of our balance druids (geared slightly better than you admittedly) hit 220k-280k. As I'm sure you're aware; balance druids scale alot with gear. The way you've listed your CDs and such looks okay, just make sure you're making the most of other things, predict where you need to be, and get there ahead of time, so you DO NOT MOVE during cooldowns. Make sure you use racials, pots, or any on use trinkets and tinkers; 5-10seconds into NV + Incarnation (so the end of those CDs get buffs, but most importantly the duration of CA + I + NV) for some really hard starfire and starsurge casts. This will make your burst hit those higher numbers
