And people call it a Diablo 3 clone...

To OP: We know nothing about how it actually work in game, as you said yourself all complainant you made is by on your own guess. Maybe wait before complaining please?

actually like what we are getting and btw

It'll be the same when it revives the monk , when it gets that (if it ever does), it'll always be like the D3 monk shadow clones not that its a bad thing, sorry to offend you if you are one of the people that get buthurt if someone says something you like is the same as something else

    and btw again

Just because it has the same name doesn't mean it's the same, it is just like the monk shadow clones in D3

Mainly because the spell said "split off" into multiple ones just the the one in Warcraft 3 instead of summon one pet like D3?
Sorry to offend you if you are just the kind of people that just can't admit they are wrong.
A wise men once said to admit you are wrong on the internet you might as well be dead.

For people who are confused as to how OP is calculating this as ~100% damage as opposed to 120%, OP is making the assumption that white damage is not cloned.

If white damage IS cloned, then it is 60% damage for you and your clone (or 40% damage for you and your TWO clones) for 120% damage total (.6*2=1.2 or .4*3=1.2).

If white damage IS NOT cloned, then we have to first figure out how our damage is separated. Looking at WoL for various logs of single target fights, Tiger Strikes and melee combined average at ~25% of the damage done, so we have ~25% white and ~75% special. If only yellow damage is duplicated, then for one clone (2 target fight) we have .25*.6+.75*.6+.75*.6 (60% of your melee damage, 60% of your special damage, and then your new special damage duplicated) for a grand total of 105%. That means, if only yellow damage is duplicated, we get ~5% bonus damage. For two clones (3 target fight) its .25*.4+.75*.4+.75*.4+.75*.4=100%. That's right, for 3 target fights, it is approximately no damage change.

This is a valid concern, which is so basic that it can't be missed by the developers. The only explanation that I can think of is that this ability WILL copy white damage, but will not be usable on a target you are attacking. This keeps it worthwhile, but does not allow us to have 120% damage at all times. The only thing about the ability that bothers me is that 2 target and 3 target fights will be exactly the same damage output for us, but in an overly complicated way. Our damage on 2 targets evenly or 3 targets evenly in a raid is so insignificant that I find it hard to justify allowing two clones instead of just one, besides for just the "cool" factor.
