Darksiders 2 hangs at white screen

My Darksiders 2 (steam, all dlc installed) sometimes hangs on this screen after I leave the inventory/map or pretty much anything inside a menu. Does anyone know a workaround or a fix?

I'm playing it with an xbox 360 USB controller.

I haven't really heard of this myself. I only do have the game for PS3 though but a quick google seach didn't bring up anything that caught my attention. If you havent already try going into steam and verifying your game files.

Yeah, if you press start while in the menu, it gets stuck there. - Don't press start in any menu screens.

(I'm using 360 controller with wireless adapter).

This has happened to me as well. What Yohassakura is saying may very well be the cause. I have a wired xbox360-controller.

That game is just buggy as shit in general.

about half the time I load up the game I get horrible flickering and need to fully restart my computer to fix it.

Not uncommon for it to crash if I ever tab out either. And its crashed on me a few times while using the shops.

And sometimes the focus gets stuck on and I need to restart to defocus.
