Humanity is a God in itself?

It is incorrect to say evolution has a goal, as evolution is a simple process. It doesn't think or have any sentience whatsoever.

It is also incorrect to say that it guarantees the survival of the entity, evolution has been shown to allow survival of particular genes, be they in one entity or multiple entities.

Ok, we can say it has no goal but it has a meaning, would that be more proper?

how does one know exactly when one becomes a god.Entities worship you, the power to bend the rules of reality on a whim it's a very profound question that can not be answered at this period in our time and probably anywhere in the near future as well,but its one of those questions we all think of at least once in life.Is it possible that deep in our genetics that we strive for this as a whole...who knows and has it been achieved already and we are just an off shoot of a process that has already been in motion in a time long long ago.

Anyways, I don't understand why people want to call things gods, Energy isn't a god, the universe isn't a god, and mankind isn't one eighter, since we're not supernatural as far as I know. We didn't create the universe, we don't have magic powers, everything we do can be explained with natural means.

You can claim that we're closing in because of this and that.
But on the other hand I could claim certain jellyfish are closer on godstatus because they are almost immortal.

Because people find religion a sacred theme of conversation, and you can't trash it in any manner whatsoever, while when you're discussing politics, you just assume the politicians are all corrupts (or the majority), and you're picking your poison, by choosing a political party.

I dont perceive all politicians as corrupt. And if someone considers something sacred that does not mean others should as well. I could consider socialism sacred but does that mean no one should be able to criticize it?

If you've seen the movie Avatar (if I remember right) the blue tree people with the tree that could even store memories (consciousness?) is more what I mean. This is silly, what is a godstatus to you thene? Supernatural is the one thing everyone seems to agree on, I'm pretty sure that most gods I've heared of are atleast not capeable of dying of age eighter, so what IS a god to you thene?

Firstly sorry to be pedantic, but it should be god with a small "g", with a big "G" it becomes the proper-noun of a particular god.

Humanity has been bending nature to its whim for millenia now; there are breeds of animal that only exist because of our interference, we make crops grow on infertile land and even re-shape the land to fit our desires. It does seem that we have taken qualities attributed to the gods and made them our own.

Being able to create life is, in my opinion, what constitutes god status. Everything else is just a state of tech or science that we haven't discovered yet. There's a thread going on about the marvelous scientific progress that has happened in 2012. We are getting closer and closer to being able to mimic what the gods of religion/myth/whatever have been able to do...except create life. If/when we learn how to do that...we have become gods. I can't even imagine what we'll be like if that ever happens. We'll probably be immortal (in the sense that time will not kill us), physical/mental perfection, be able to travel to planets at a convenience. So many possibilities.
