I was guessing the shortcut to being hired would be to look good in the eyes of the hiring manager, and one could do that by smiling and talking attractively in front of them. But you would have to do this before submitting the resume because my resume looks pretty bad with no job experience (too short to put the ones I had).

But I don't know what to say to make the hiring manager want to hire me.
Dont flirt with them! no wonder you are unemployed......

Obviously you have never worked alongside the airforce. Ever seen those fuckers run when SNCO's are looking for volunteers for a crappy job?

    Fucking Win.

Just like the navy (never again volunteer yourself), we had sailors who where half ninja, fuckers would vanish as soon as a shitty job got posted.

Oops I meant talking in a way that they will look on me favorably. Attractive personality.

*Your building’s security policy requires all visitors to be escorted by a company employee when on the premises. The husband of a female employee has visited many times before and his wife has recently told you to always let him in unescorted. One day he comes in and appears to be agitated and demands to see his wife. Which of the following is the best course of action?
Call his wife, inform her that he is here, and wait for instructions.
Call the police immediately and have him arrested for trespassing.
Let him in since you know that he has permission to enter the office.
Let him in, but discretely follow him and watch from a safe distance.
How would you answer this question? I'm guessing the answer is B.

People who purposely try to find jobs where they get to sit around on their ass and play games/sleep/not actually work annoy the hell out of me. That's part of the problem with today's society. People want to have everything practically handed to them but don't want to have to work for it and earn it. Get off your lazy asses and do something productive! If you finish all your tasks at your job, I'd bet $100 that you could FIND SOMETHING to do to keep you occupied, even if it means you do something that's not part of your regular job (aka stocking supplies, cleaning something, organizing something, etc, etc, etc). I hate these people who have this sense of self-entitlement and think that they DESERVE to just sit around and make money while doing it. How about you actually WORK like other people have to and EARN your damn money instead of having it handed to you.

That's also part of the problem with welfare/unemployment. To damn many people who are allowed to sit on their ass at home and collect a check, and then have no desire to go out and try to get a job and work again. *sigh* Some humans are so lazy and are such a waste of space and air.

I'm stumped on this one too:

*While working the main security desk you are required to check visitor ID badges against a main roster listing the approved visitors. Today is June 3rd and all approved IDs begin with OdL6 and must include a full name. Which of the following individuals should not be allowed into the building?
Ho Collier, OdL6, for June 3
Karen Mills, OdL6, for June 3
Mile Wallace, OdI6, for June 3
    Siu-Lan Chau, OdL6, for June 3
Actually I solved this. I see that it is the 3rd one.

Doing dam near nothing and getting payed for it is easy, it's called a government job.
Doing a honest days work and getting payed obsessively is a little harder it's called a union job
Doing backbreaking labor and getting shitty pay for it however is very hard and known as a private sector job with no union affiliations.

In my case I want to purposely find a job where I have free time so that I can do what I am passionate about and make a living out of that.

I could build a blog/website etc during the shift so that people who views the site can benefit and I can earn some money from that.

    I can vouch for this.

Desktop administrator is where it's at. I sit around in my office for 9 hours a day playing minecraft. The only time I have to do work is when we get new software that needs to be installed on all the computers or if someone opens up a email that has a virus I have to fix the computer for them. Installing new software isn't too bad though, I just hook up multiple computers and run the installation wizard then go back to minecraft on my laptop until it gets done installing, then hook up more computers and repeat. The only other thing I've had to do was encrypt company data and since the folders were pretty large it took around 30-40 minutes for each one, so select the file, run the program, play minecraft, rename encrypted folder, go to the next one. I also get paid $18 an hour so it's not a bad little job.

    Ahveros,

How do you get that job?

apply for it? My interview was pretty awesome, it wasn't the normal "Why do you feel we should hire you?" interview. They asked me "How much computer experience do you have? Tell us what you know." then they sat me down in front of a computer and had me figure out the problem, fix it, then install some programs and hook it up in a new cubicle. After I did all that with no problems they said I was hired and to come in the next day. Easiest and most enjoyable interview I've ever had, you'll probably get the boring kind so brush up on your knowledge of computers and check out the history of the company you're applying for and do some research on them.

How do you get the computer knowledge necessary to pass the interview? Are there lots of these jobs? How do you make yourself competitive from other applicants?

Haha, what an amusing thread. Desk jobs for officers in the Marines tend to be heavy on the free time from my experience, though probably not at the enlistment offices. Hell, half my SO's job is to stalk me and other officer candidates on Facebook. That said OP, someone like you would never make it as an officer, so I wouldn't count it as an option.
