How to solo Ulduar 10HM - Warlock Guide

    Hello!

I wanted to share with you my work. I soloed all Bosses in Ulduar - some of them a few months ago, and some of them a few days ago. I've done videos with tactics that should help young warlocks in the solo fight against evil. Some of the descriptions may be a little outdated, since they were made a few months ago, but it just means that the Boss is easier to solo now. I hope that this will be useful to someone

    ● Flame Leviathan HM + 4 Towers:

    8th November 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Vehicles, 468 iLvL

    Difficulty: ★★★★ Hard

In this fight you will use vehicles. Before the pull you have to place 2 Siege Engines in the south-east corner of the Boss' room and Demolisher along with Demonic Circle in the north-east corner of the Boss' room. Start the fight from the south-west corner of the Boss' room and kite Flame Leviathan towards SE Siege Engines and then towards NE Demolisher (don't kite right into it). You will have to slowly stack pyrite to 10 via Hurl Pyrite Barrel ability. At the beginning of the fight and near NE Demolisher (when you run out of pyrite) you should also hit Boss via Hurl Boulder ability. After the destruction of your Demolisher, use Demonic Circle and jump into NE Demolisher. At this point, Flame Leviathan begins to move towards the SE Siege Engines - let him get some distance, but don't wait too much, because he will switch to you soon. Now you will have to stack pyrite faster and kite Boss as best as possible. Remember to avoid the blue beams (red beam is currently bugged -.-). Good Luck and Have Fun!

    ● Ignis the Furnace Master:

    4th September 2012, Patch 5.0.4
    Affliction + Voidlord, 395 iLvL
Talents: Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy
Glyphs: Demon Training, Dark Soul, Siphon Life

    Difficulty: ★★★★ Hard

Boss should be tanked by a Voidlord while you tank adds. Turn off Voidlord's auto taunt (Suffering) and auto Void Shield. Do not forget to set him to passive. In this way, you can easily tank Constructs. Ignis gains one stack of a 20% damage bonus for every active Construct, so you have to destroy them. Keep Construct in the fire until it become molten. Then bring Construct to the water, move away and destroy him by Fel Flame. After each Slag Pot, you have to command your minion to attack Ignis. Remember that you can still cast spells inside Slag Pot. Before each Flame Jets, stop casting spells. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    ● Razorscale:

    31st August 2012, Patch 5.0.4
    Demonology + Voidlord, 395 iLvL
Talents: Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy
Glyphs: Demon Training, Dark Apotheosis, Siphon Life

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

This Boss fight consists of three phases, alternating air and ground phases until 50% of Boss' HP, and then a pure ground phase from 50% to 0%.
P1 (Air): Kill adds (Dark Rune Sentinels are a priority) and wait until the harpoon turrets will be repaired. Remember to not stand in the fire!
P1 (Ground): Use harpoon turrets immediately and nuke Razorscale. If you don't have brought her HP to 50%, you will have to wait again for turrets.
P2 (Pure Ground): Do not stand in front of Razorscale, due to Flame Breath. Your minion will be receiving Fuse Armor debuff that reduces the armor, attack and movement speed by 20% for 20 seconds (stacks up to 5). Good Luck and Have Fun!

    ● XT-002 Deconstructor HM:

    15th October 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Demonology + Voidlord, 460 iLvL
Talents: Harvest Life, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs: Demon Training, Imp Swarm, Siphon Life

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

Boss is tanked by a Voidlord. Watch out for Tympanic Tantrum which deals damage equal to 10% of your maximum health every 1 sec for 8 sec. You can reduce the damage taken by poping up defensive cooldowns. Before every Tympanic Tantrum you must be healed to maximum HP. At 75% of maximum health, he will show his heart that you have to destroy. After the destruction of his heart Boss goes to a Hard Mode and heals himself to the full. Remember to kill the remaining adds. During Hard Mode watch out for Tympanic Tantrum, don't stand too close to Voidlord with Gravity Bomb debuff and kill Life Sparks. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Music: Prometheus Rising - Immediate Music

    ● Assembly of Iron HM:

    15th October 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Demonology + Voidlord, 460 iLvL
Talents: Harvest Life, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs: Demon Training, Imp Swarm, Siphon Life

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

Bosses are tanked by a Voidlord. Phase 1 is the most difficult, because you are fighting with all 3 Bosses. Kill Runemaster Molgeim as the first. You have to move out Bosses as soon as possible from Rune of Power (ignoring Stormcaller Brundir). Stand in a Rune to increase your dps. Your minion will receive a lot of damage from Steelbreaker's Fusion Punch. Don't stand too close to Brundir because of his Overload (20 yard range). In phase 2 as a second kill Stormcaller Brundir. In phase 3 you will only fight with Steelbreaker. Due to Overwhelming Power your Voidlord will deal 200% more damage. After one minute Voidlord die, but until then Steelbreaker should be dead. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    ● Kologarn:

    20th August 2012, Patch 4.3.4
    Affliction (32/9/0) + Voidwalker, 395 iLvL

    Difficulty: ★★★★ Hard

Success in this fight is largely dependent on luck. The problem is Stone Grip, which just one-shots you. Kologarn does not use Stone Grip on the person who is the victim of a Focused Eyebeam. Typically, both of these spells are used at the same time. In a situation where spells are not used at the same time, you have to start tank the Boss, so you will not be a victim of Stone Grip. Emote "I will squeeze the life from you!" in the video is placed in the moments, where it is used Stone Grip. Watch out for Overhead Smash while in his melee range - it interrupts casting for 8 seconds. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Since Mists of Pandaria you can easily solo Kologarn by tanking him in Dark Apotheosis.

    ● Auriaya:

    7th September 2012, Patch 5.0.4
    Affliction + Voidlord, 395 iLvL
Talents: Harvest Life, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy
Glyphs: Demon Training, Soul Shards, Siphon Life

    Difficulty: ★★★★ Hard

The hardest part of the fight is pull. You have to kill Sanctum Sentries as soon as possible, otherwise they will kill you. If you survived pull, now it will be much easier. Adds are a priority. Swarming Guardians quickly die from Harvest Life. Feral Defender is not a threat - just keep killing him while he will be resurrected (every 1min). Auriaya puts fear on you from time to time. Do not stand in front of the Boss, due to Sonic Screech and avoid Void Zones, which are formed after the death of Feral Defender. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    Music: Gryphonheart - Position Music

    ● Hodir HM:

    19th November 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Affliction + Voidlord, 473 iLvL
Talents: Soul Leech, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs: Demon Training, Siphon Life, Soul Shards

    Difficulty: ★★ Easy

Boss should be tanked by a Voidlord. Hard Mode requires to kill Hodir within 3 minutes. There are 4 NPCs frozen in Ice Blocks, who can be freed by attacking the Ice Blocks. When freed, they will help you by attacking Hodir, casting spells to help you and providing beneficial buffs. To succeed you need to be always near the Starlight (beam) or Toasty Fire (campfire). In this fight you'll often run due to the Ice Shards falling from the ceiling and Biting Cold aura, so Kil'jaeden's Cunning talent is very useful here (I forgot to change talents -.-'). Unbound Will talent is very useful for dispelling Freeze (immobilization for 10sec similar to Frost Nova) after Flash Freeze (NPC, which removes it, will be frozen in Ice Block). When Hodir starts casting Flash Freeze, large icicle will begin to fall. The area where this icicle will fall is immediately marked by a mound of snow and a large white targeting circle on the ground. You should get next to, but NOT inside this large circle as soon as possible. After several seconds the large icicle will crash into the ground causing damage to anyone in the circle and knocking them 30 yards away. After the icicle has hit the ground, you have only a couple seconds to run into the circle where a large icicle has just fallen. Any NPCs who are not in large circle will be frozen in an Ice Block by the Flash Freeze (yes, you too). NPCs in Ice Blocks should be freed immediately prior to resuming dps on Hodir (I use DoTs). During Frozen Blows your minion will need more healing. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    Music: Timeline - X-Ray Dog

    ● Thorim HM:

    25th November 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Affliction + Voidlord, 473 iLvL
Talents: Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs: Demon Training, Siphon Life, Soul Shards

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

It is impossible to fight against Thorim in Normal Mode, because he resets. The only way is to kill him by activating his Hard Mode. Phase 1 (reaching Thorim) is the most difficult part of the fight. Voidlord should be set to passive (you command it manually). Kill all the adds in the arena, open the gate by using the lever, run into the corridor where you pull Runic Colossus (use Burning Rush and Dark Regeneration!) and quickly return to the arena (keep the big add alive). Place your Demonic Portal just past the gate, return to the arena and wait for reset. Kill all the adds in the arena except Runic Colossus and one additional mob. Teleport past the gate, resummon Voidlord and kill Runic Colossus. Keep the add from the arena alive as you kill the rest enemies on your way to Thorim. When you are near Thorim, kill the add from the arena and wait for Thorim to do his roleplay until Sif spawns. If you enter earlier, you fail... If you wait too much, you fail too... Do not bother counter of Hard Mode in the DBM, because it counts the time from the first pull, rather than the reset. When you jump down, do not forget to resummon Voidlord. Now defeat Thorim while avoiding Lightning Charge. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Music: Sanctus Immortale - Immediate Music

    ● Freya HM + 3 Elders:

    25th November 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Affliction + Voidlord, 473 iLvL
Talents: Harvest Life, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs: Demon Training, Siphon Life, Soul Shards

    Difficulty: ★★ Easy

Boss and adds (except Detonating Lashers) should be tanked by a Voidlord. The Elders, left alive prior to engaging Freya, do not engage combat, but banish themselves and provide the following buffs, while granting Freya some of their abilities as well:
Elder Brightleaf - increases Magic damage dealt by Freya and her Allies of Nature by 60%. Freya also gains the ability to cast Solar Flare, a nuke that may hit multiple targets.
Elder Ironbranch - increases Physical damage dealt by Allies of Nature by 50%. Freya also gains the ability to cast Iron Roots, a single target root with a DoT component. The roots are attackable like Web Wraps which frees the afflicted.
Elder Stonebark - increases Physical damage dealt by Freya by 75%. Freya also gains the ability to cast Ground Tremor, a 2 second cast, 100 yard AoE that deals Physical damage and interrupts spellcasts, locking out interrupted spell schools for 8 seconds.
Before you pull Freya it is necessary to clear the trash! Remember to kill Eonar's Gift (growing tree) for the whole fight, because it heals the Boss and adds after 12 seconds!
P1: As you engage Freya, she will cast a HoT on herself and a buff that increases her received healing by 4% per stack, starting with 150 stacks for a total of +600% healing which makes her basically invincible at the beginning of the encounter. Freya will then spawn six waves of adds (Allies of Nature) in a fixed interval of 60 seconds. Defeating these waves will remove various amounts of stacks from her buff until it is completely removed by the last wave. The waves are one of three different types, cycling through twice in a random order.
Ancient Conservator - when he appears, let Voidlord hit add a few times and then order your minion to follow you (before Conservator finishes the cast). Now you need to get under the mushroom, otherwise you will be pacified. Your minion must also be under the mushroom!
Ancient Water Spirit, Snaplasher and Storm Lasher - they must be killed within 12 seconds of each other, otherwise they resurrect.
10 Detonating Lashers - just AoE them down.
P2: After you defeat all the waves, just defeat Freya. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Music: Tyrianis - Two Steps From Hell

    ● Mimiron HM:

    25th November 2012, Patch 5.0.5
    Affliction + Voidlord/Fel Imp, 473 iLvL
Talents: Harvest Life, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Archimonde's Vengeance
Glyphs: Demon Training, Siphon Life, Soul Shards

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

The fight consists of four phases - in each phase Mimiron uses some vehicle. Hard Mode is activated by pressing the Big Red Button.
P1 (Leviathan MK II): You should stay outside the circle of mines, due to Shock Blast. During Napalm Shell your minion will need more healing. Try not to spread the fire throughout the room and not stand in it. Kite the fire like I did on vid.
P2 (VX-001): Summon Fel Imp instead of Voidlord and do not stand next to him (like me...), otherwise it will die from Rocket Strike. Rocket Strike is deadly and must necessarily be avoided. P3Wx2 Laser Barrage must be avoided too. Try not to spread the fire throughout the room and not stand in it. Kite the fire like I did on vid. In this phase, the fire will be extinguished by Frost Bomb, which should be avoided.
P3 (Aerial Command Unit): Summon Voidlord instead of Fel Imp. The priority is to destroy all the adds except Emergency Fire Bot. Try to destroy Bomb Bots, before they reach you. You can loot Magnetic Core from Assault Bot and use it underneath Aerial Command Unit in order to disable Mimiron's vehicle, so it will receive an extra dmg. I have not used it, because I like to make life difficult :P Now you can spread the fire throughout the room, because you will have at the disposal firefighters (Emergency Fire Bots), who will extinguish the fire in the room. Remember to stay away from the fire!
P4 (V0-L7R-0N): Each of the previous vehicles have their own health pool and can be targeted separately. All three targetable sections begin this phase at 50% health and they need to be destroyed within 10 seconds of each other, otherwise they respawn. In this phase, you need to avoid Rocket Strike and P3Wx2 Laser Barrage again. You should also stay outside the circle of mines, due to Shock Blast. You deal with the fire as well as in phase 3.
You have 10 minutes to complete the encounter. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    ● General Vezax HM:

    17th December 2012, Patch 5.1.0
    Affliction + Voidlord, 479 iLvL
Talents: Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Kil'jaeden's Cunning
Glyphs: Demon Training, Siphon Life, Soul Shards

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

In this fight you will not be able to regenerate mana. To activate Hard Mode you have to wait until Saronite Animus appears (about 3 minutes). During this time, you can not destroy any Saronite Vapor. Try to avoid Shadow Crashes. Put DoTs on Vezax only when you are standing in a dark puddle forming on impact of Shadow Crash, because it increases magical damage dealt by 100%. Don't extend the duration of DoTs - don't hurry, you have plenty of time. Be careful not to kill Vezax too early! Voidlord should be healed only when you're not standing in a dark puddle, because it reduces healing done by 75%. When the Boss will have a little HP, turn off Voidlord's auto Void Shield, set him to passive and command him to stand in place (must be facing the Boss and stop attacking him). Now stay alive until Saronite Animus appears. When Vezax starts to cast Surge of Darkness (occurs every minute), you must immediately command your minion to follow you and start to kite. The appearance of Saronite Animus and Surge of Darkness occurs at the same time - this is the most difficult moment in the fight. Before this happens, Vezax should not stand in the middle of the room. Kill Saronite Animus (don't forget to use a dark puddle) and then kill General Vezax. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    Music: Euhemerism - In Uchronia

    ● Yogg-Saron HM + 0 Light:

    29th December 2012, Patch 5.1.0
    Demonology + Felguard, 484 iLvL
Talents: Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Service (Felguard), Kil'jaeden's Cunning
Glyphs: Demon Training, Imp Swarm, Dark Soul
    0:55 - Boss Fight

    Difficulty: ★★★★ Hard

This fight requires good EQ, because of the phase 3.
P1: Sara cannot be attacked directly. The only way to damage her is the AoE damage from dying Guardians of Yogg-Saron. In order to end the phase, you have to kill 8 Guardians close to Sara. You can speed up the appearance of adds by touching green-yellow clouds. Some dmg can be avoided by using Twilight Ward.
P2: In this phase, you will need a bit of luck. Quickly kill any remaining Guardians from phase 1. Your Sanity will drop to about 30. Before the appearance of portals to the Mind's Eye, you'll have to deal with two waves of tentacles. The first wave will consist of Constrictor Tentacle (/tar macro is useful here), Corruptor Tentacle and Crusher Tentacle. The second wave will consist of Constrictor Tentacle and Corruptor Tentacle. Corruptor Tentacle is a priority. If it manages to cast Black Plague (24sec debuff, which periodically stuns for 2sec), you probably wipe it. Before the appearance of portals, all tentacles must be destroyed. Remember to avoid the green beams. After using the portal, your task will be to put Corruption on every neutral NPC while not facing Laughing Skull. Your minion has to be close to you, when going through the portal, otherwise it will not pass through it. Then you have to destroy Brain of Yogg-Saron, before it finishes Induce Madness cast. In addition, you need 1000 Demonic Fury for phase 3, so you have to be very fast in this realm.
P3: Nuke phase. Go to the back of the Boss and let your minion to tank adds. When Lunatic Gaze is casts, you have to turn away from the Boss. Watch out for Sanity, because if it drops to 0, you will become insane. Pop up all offensive cooldowns and pray that you do not become a victim of Black Plague. Yogg-Saron must die before Immortal Guardians will start to heal. Good Luck and Have Fun!

    ● Algalon the Observer:

    2nd December 2012, Patch 5.1.0
    Affliction + Voidlord, 475 iLvL
Talents: Dark Regeneration, Mortal Coil, Dark Bargain, Burning Rush, Grimoire of Supremacy, Kil'jaeden's Cunning
Glyphs: Demon Training, Siphon Life, Soul Shards
    1:00 - Boss Fight

    Difficulty: ★★★ Medium

Boss should be tanked by a Voidlord, due to Phase Punch (slowly fades the target to another plane of existence). Stay at a distance of more than 5 yards, otherwise you will receive damage from Quantum Strike. You have to ignore all the adds and avoid Cosmic Smash and Black Holes for the whole fight. Summon the Doomguard in Phase 2 (at 20% of Boss' HP), because you'll get more and more damage. You have 6 minutes to complete the encounter. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Do you know if Yogg25 +0 is solo able? I been wanting to farm that mount for a while now.

While that being said, I have a few additions to make. Use Doomguard (Or Terrorguard in most cases) when there is going to be 1 min of the fight left.

Use portal on several fights, for example fall dmg on Algalon.

I have not tried this, so i don't know ;( It is probably not possible, because phase 3 in 10-man version requires strong dps. I'm afraid that for 25-man + 0 we have to wait for better gear.

Will go test it after exams. However you were Demo, which pulls alot lower dps than Aff, especially as you can Drain Soul while turning away on Yogg p3. I also have 11 more ilvls than you, should help

Nice work! I'm sure this will be helpful for a lot of people.

I ran through Ulduar 10 last week just to try it. I think you are way off on how hard some of the fights are. FL +4 is all about vehicle setup. Other than that the only fight I wiped to was Thorim as I was trying to figure out the timing to prevent him from reseting. Didn't even realize Yogg was +0 until the end when the adds didn't die. Overall I'd put the instance at a 3/5 in terms of difficulty.

This guide helped me immensely. Thank you so much.

Im trying to solo Thorim 25 ... and it is the most infuriating thing ever.

Sometimes I don't reach the Runic Colossus in time, but if I do, I can't seem to time engaging Thorim and jumping back into the arena correctly. (After Sif joins)

Last time i tried FL HM i could not use more then 1 vehicle, since he destroys any other vehicles in the area.
Was this a bug ? Or did blizz change this back to what it used to be.

XT in current gear is not hard at all, just nuke as hard as you can and you will burn him down quickly.
Use defensive cd's for tantrum, or just heal back up using ember/lifetap ( destro )
You could focus on scrapbots so the boss will not heal, but you can outdmg the heals he gets.
    Very easy fight tbh.

I tried Thorim as well, but the timing to prevent the gauntlet to reset is tricky.

I can imagine that vezzax will be nasty without mana gained back, think you will go oom very quickly, specially since activating hardmode requires 2 bosses to kill. Have not tried him or yogg though.

You have to put a good amount of distance between each vehicle so they don't get hit by the ram while he's hitting you. Have them all to your right since whenever you exit a vehicle in that fight it pops you out the right side. I put demos at opposite corners and used a motorcycle to get to them. I had a siege engine in a 3rd corner but I didn't need it.

Since this is a rather old thread, with some videos dating back to Cataclysm, the information is probably not entirely accurate anymore. Bigger problem however is spreading the information about how to solo old content to other threads then the existing active one.

I'm going to ask you to take any discussion about this to the Solo old Content thread found here: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...ng-Old-Content

It has active discussion and when searching the thread you will find many discussions about how to do the Thorim gauntlet succesfully (since that is what ressurected this thread). And if that is not clear enough feel free to ask in the thread, cause there are always helpful people in there that can help get better understanding, not just of these Ulduar fights, but others as well.

I'm going to close this thread to prevent further information and tips to get lost in an old and unused thread.
