Which adapter do I need to buy for the GPU to be able to connect the DVI to a VGA? It's for a second monitor. Link to a site would be appreciated.

Do I need to buy any seperate cables to connect it all up?

I would stay far away from anything made by OCZ, with their bad track record when it comes to SSDs and the recent problems in the company.

My vertex 4 and the 10 that I have put in other computers seem to be doing just fine never had a problem with them. I guess if you made something back in the day that wasn't so good your doomed forever. I can type in bad asus products or bad corsair products and get 100's of pages of people that have had problems with those products and they are the highest reguarded products on these forums.

OT get a Vertex 4 and have a faster SSD then everybody's Crucial M4.

What does a company laying people off have to do with a product quality Sony and Toyota have laid off people and those companies are known to make great products.

I still wouldn't touch the Samsung 840's either. TLC Nand still leaves a lot to be questioned, especially in longevity, since by nature TLC wears out much faster than MLC and SLC. I just don't see any advantage in being an early adapter of the product when there are plenty good MLC options with faster write speeds that are either cheaper or around the same price. TLC is suppose to make SSD drive cheaper, but we're not seeing that at all here, so there is no perk in picking up a TLC drive right now.

Those are good PSU's but the Antec is up there with those PSU's as well. I usually recommend Corsair/XFX/Seasonic/Antec.

samsung 840 pro or 830, not the normal 840 is what you want

get a 750W PSU so you can crossfire cards later if you need. either a 750w version of the earthwatts platinum or corsair tx/hx/ax 750 or seasonic x750 or x760

Because the 830 and 840 pro are both better than the 840. I think the 830 is usually about the same price as the 840 and it's faster.

OCZ has a really bad track record when it comes to SSD and while the Vertex 4 might be good it still hasn't proven itself enough for me to recommend that model to anyone.

OCZ as a company has done some drastic cuts in both employees and products lately and isn't looking too strong overall as a company, if the company falls or gets sold of to someone else there might be warranty issues later on.

I'm using a OCZ Vertex 3 240GB for like, 8 months now, not a single problem. I also suggest narrowing down your options and reading up on them specifically on AnandTech. That guy reviews parts like crazy.

Hierarchy chart shows that OCZ Vertex 3 is actually pretty high on the performance benchmarks. Although it uses 'inferior' architecture than its younger brothers, Vertex 4's, it's still a valid option if you're aiming for performance. It might also be cheaper in terms of price because it's older.

Just read up on it and make your decision, forums will have different opinions -and pretty biased ones as well- coming from all directions. Ofc they can lead you to the knowledgebases that you might find valuable information, like I'm doing.

I recently got a Samsung 830, and while one person's anecdote doesn't mean much, I've been quite happy with it, and reviews regarding it have all been positive.

SLC, MLC, and TLC is just the technology used. You don't really get to choose those. SLC is old tech. MLC is most SSD's these days. TLC is for special drives, or flash drives.
