    demo vs destruction?

how are they compared to each other? are demo better aoe while destruction is better singel target?.

They both sim fairly close to each other, Demonology beating out Destruction for both single target and AoE, while Affliction sims considerably better for single target and considerably weaker than either for AoE. Affliction does pull out on top in 2-target multi-dot style fights.

If you're going to choose either Destruction or Demonology as your "main" raiding spec, you probably shouldn't worry yourself over max theoretical damage output too much, because an equally geared and skilled Affliction lock will perform quite a bit better on non-gimmicky-AoE fights, so choose whichever one you enjoy playing the most and feel the most comfortably playing as.

If you want to push the best numbers you possibly can, go Affliction for single target and cleave fights, and Demonology for mass-AoE.

This is all from a simulation perspective.
    (http://simulationcraft.org/510/Warlock.html - Single Target)
    (http://simulationcraft.org/510/Warlock_2-target.html - Two-Target Cleave)
    (http://simulationcraft.org/510/Warlock_AoE.html - 8+ Target AoE)

If you want some real-life data, here's the Raidbots rundown:

Looks like Affliction is top dog and Demonology and Destruction are both substantially weaker, but very close to each other.

    TL;DR:

Unless you're serious about pushing hardcore progression, play whichever you prefer - Demonology and Destruction are both pretty close in both single target and AoE, Demonology pushing ahead in both arenas.

The Action Priority List for both Demo and Destro on SimulationCraft are both horribly wrong, and SimC shouldn't be used to differentiate accurate DPS numbers between the two specs at all. In reality, both Demo and Destro are in really good places, though Demo can (and probably will) beat out Destro on single-target only fights. If there's anything that can be cleaved or AoEd at all, Destro is exceptionally strong.

i actually find demo much easier in 2-target (stone guard HC/normal) because doom will be a lot of your damage and doesnt really need any attention to maintain
