Nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. People use these when they have done something bad and don't think they should be punished. I'm not perfect but me speeding is not the same as someone killing dogs or killing someone drunk driving.

Any number of the slang and strange greetings that you Americans come up with, sometimes it seems for the exact purpose of confusing me.
"Wassup" brings me endless confusion. I've been in the US for three and a half years, and I still have absolutely no idea how to properly respond to wassup.
