Rising Sun Kick/Blackout Kick Macro! SUPER CONVENIENT

Hey guys, just figured I'd show you guys 2 pretty cool macros (one better than the other) that prioritize Rising Sun Kick over Blackout Kick. Hope you guys enjoy it and have fun with the extra keybinding you get from unbinding Blackout Kick!

P.S. Sorry if this was a double post, I don't think my first post went through. (If it did sorry)

This is against the ToS BTW.

It's actually not against the ToS. What is against the ToS is if you setup a macro to play the game for you, a.k.a. "one button" which would allow you to press the button and walk away from the game. As long as you're still there, pressing the buttons, playing the game, they don't care about having a macro button that presses a button like this.

If it was against the ToS, they would crack down on everyone who uses macros for milling/prospecting/enchanting, as well as all of the multiboxers who use applications who mimic key presses to other screens. Their reasoning? "There's still someone pressing the buttons on the keyboard".

I think this is the loophole to that ToS because its just a timer reset macro. I could be wrong though.

Anything you can macro isn't against the ToS

Not a loophole. This is exactly what cast sequence timer macro's are for.

Macro mice/keyboards have this function, so why should it be bannable? It's just forcing you to input a key several times and then another key(Same as if you were spamming 1 and 2 on your keyboard at once, Game would choose whichever works)

  9. #9
Castsequence macro's aren't bannable... if they were, then why would blizzard have them? What can be bannable is using programmable Mice/Keyboards to do things not intended to be possible ingame.

I have no idea (literally) if what the OP's using his Razor keyboard for is one of those bannable offences, but I do know Blizzard have given examples in the past of what is/isn't allowed via out of game hardware macro's.

If you really need to use this macro, thats just sad really

Bet you thought making 8 porn folders with a random jpg as the only contents was a real good laugh.

The macro isn't possible with the blizzard UI

Unless they changed the way castsequence macros work, the reset=8 condition means the macro will reset 8 seconds after the last keypress. This becomes a big problem when your haste and the like puts you at X Blackout Kicks one cycle and X+1 Blackout Kicks the next cycle. Or, when you get stunned, disarmed or are too far away from the boss in PvE.

These reasons are generally why castsequence macros have gone the way of the dodo. Castsequence macros are only good for clickable things like buffs (eg. Legacy of the Emperor + Legacy of the White Tiger)

By the way, you don't need a gaming mouse/keyboard to use mouse/keyboard macros like one shown. For mouse only, grab [X-Button Mouse Control](http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/X...tonControl.htm) which I use to convert mouse button 4 into mod:CTRL. For keyboard macros you can use AutoIt (commonly used for botting). AutoIt as a true 'programmable' macro suite, you can even hotkey F12 or something to turn on and off the 'autofire' macro.

Using any macro system to circumvent Blizzard's restriction on CD macros is most probably against the ToS. There is a reason they don't allow macros just pick whichever is available, FCFS style. For example:

    /cast Rising Sun Kick
    /cast Blackout Kick

would only ever cast Rising Sun Kick. If Blizzard gave you X rotational abilities, Blizzard wants you to use X keys to fully manage your rotation (unless you're willing to sacrifice some DPS to go for a castsequence macro). Whenever a castsequence macro becomes too mainstream, Blizzard will generally change the way the spells line up next patch to break the macros. This happens pretty frequently with DoT type castsequence macros. Example: Corruption is 18s and UA is 15s.

TL;DR - The listed macro is not perfect, even in PvE. The 'Razer keyboard macro' can be done with other free programs like X-Button Mouse Control and AutoIt. Blizzard specifically disallows simplifying rotations without sacrificing performance within WoW UI/Addons so it probably wouldn't fly if you circumvent this protection via third party program.

I'm testing it out at the moment, and the only thing i've done is add 2 more blackout kicks to it just to account for times when i could fit that many in.

And so far it works fine. You RSK, icon changes to Blackout Kick. If you dont Blackout for 8 seconds it goes back to RSK, if you blackout 3 times but dont do the rest of them in the macro, it still goes back to RSK after 8 seconds since you hit RSK.

The macro doesn't really seem to have any downsides for me, i just gain an extra keybind.
Quick Edit: i'm talking about the castsequence one.

Got to agree, not sure why anyone would want a macro like this. We don't use THAT many abilities as a Windwalker in the rotation (priority list) as it is.

There's no real difference using it or not. It's just gaining a keybind for other stuff.

A bit offtopic, but I managed to bind my whole rotation + totemtwisting into one macro in TBC, was totally awesome.

Also, to have the castsequence macro to work you have to use BK 3 times per RSK or you will lose out on RSKs. Or wait 8 seconds, but that's not an option either. It's better to just learn to actually play instead of using a macro.

On a Patchwerk-fight, sure. On a fight like Stone Guard, Garalon, Spirit Kings, Elegon etc. where you move around and aren't guaranteed to hit those 3 BKs it'll severely harm you by delaying RSKs by several seconds at times.

Are you sure about that? I created a castsequence macro where I have 11 Sinister Strikes following a Revealing Strike (18s debuff) on reset=18. If I don't hit SS 11 times, then the macro never resets (as long as I hit SS once every ~15s).

This is correct. The macro resets after the macro is inactive for 8 seconds with reset=8.
