It's interesting, the way age makes people cement themselves in their views.

I know a lot of young and old, bright minds that are open to new ideas and suggestions and realize that change is often necessary in a growing and evolving world. Their minds can often be swayed by well thought out arguments backed by evidence and sound logic. I consider them some of the smartest people I know, and they have views and opinions that run the full spectrum of politics, religion and science.

I also know many older and younger people who know a lot but are unwilling to accept new ideas, and anything outside of their comfortable accepted reality and world views turns them into gibbering idiots that spew obscenities and insults when a particular subject doesn't fit into their pre conceived notion of reality. Oddly enough, this notion of unwilling to accept new ideas and adapt to a changing world is a term known as fundamentalism.

The embargo is redundant, and will be lifted sooner rather than later.

If the USA had not meddled with Cuba post Spanish-American war then the revolution would not have happened.

They basically turned Cuba into a giant, even more corrupt version of Las Vegas and the people rejected it.

I think it's stupid and out-dated. Honestly, more interaction between the countries rather than less might help to speed Cuba's movement towards a more socialist-capitalist democracy faster, if anything.

And there they lay I damn me eyes

Indeed, for me it's because as I have got older I have learnt more and investigated things in more detail.

Exactly why what? Do you have anything read-worthy to say or dismissing other people's points with cheap wannabe-witty remarks is all you can do?

I think it's about being more of a threat to the country's population than the entire world.

I don't think Communism should be fought at all.

It's not the system that causes issues, it's the people in charge.

As for China, they never were Communist and they never will be. At the moment calling them communist is frankly insulting to the meaning.

I have an open mind... I was responding to someone that referenced kites... Now, if you'd like to continue with snide comments I'll certainly oblige you, as I've had many many years of practice telling folks where to go.

i'd give that vote to chine, as for the first part, have you tried getting into north korea lately?
you will be shot on site / or taken to a prison camp lol, not even one of the good prison camps they use on their own people for the 3 generations thing(make your entire family work on a prison camp to beat rebellion out of your family line for 3 gen)
Cuba is actually relatively bad, it's why we have boatloads of people coming in relatively consistantly.
china is...the least communist out of the traditional view of communism, then cuba being in the middle, and north korea being the worse, and yes there is 'technically' an embargo against north korea since they do not let any outsiders in / insiders out(willingly) and don't even think they allow trade. it's more of a self imposed imbargo.

how is china on your list again? while i guess technically true, they have more freedoms than any of the other communist nations, they are a rainbow in comparison.

I think the embargo should be scrapped. The missile crisis was 50 years ago, let's stop holding onto the past and look to the future.

Tbh the only 'communist' country I would support an Embargo on is North Korea.
