Question regarding upgrading items

I'm trying to figure out how the upgrading system works i'm sure its been stated numerous times but i cant seem to find the details.

You spend;

*1500 JP to upgrade a blue PvE item by 8 iLevels, can be done once
*750 VP to upgrade an epic PvE item by 4 iLevels, can be done twice

*1500 HP to upgrade a blue PvP item by 8 iLevels, can be done once
*750 CP to upgrade an epic PvP item by 4 iLevels, can be done twice

Not sure how you can't understand that. All it does is add a very small amount of stats to the item you upgrade. Check www.wowhead.com when thinking about upgrading trinkets to see how their procs change though.

It wasn't so much that I didn't understand it. It was that I couldn't find this info thank you for the concise response

There really isn't a point to upgrading them anymore since all upgraded items are being downgraded again in 5.2

As far as I know the items aren't being downgraded, it just stops you from upgrading them.

This tweet says they won't be downgraded. Where do you get your info from?

Not sure how much I like them removing item upgrades with 5.2 for 5.0 stuff; all it does is encourage people not interested in normal/heroic raids to farm honor for 476 gear
