PVP damage reduction math question

I didn't find an answer for this so I dare to ask:

- PVP Resilience reduces the damage by a certain amount, let's say 60 % in this example.
- Def stance reduces the damage by 25 % (15 % in 5.2).

how is the actual reduction calculated? I hightly doubt that it's simply 60 % + 25 % = 85 % right?

- (1) So is it FIRST 60% resil. and then 25 % from THAT bc. of Def stance?
- (2) or is damage - 25 % and then THIS is reduced by 60 % from resil.

So if I take 100.000 damage is it (1) 100.000 - 60.000 (60 % )= 40.000 and then - 6000 (25 %) = 34000
or is it (2) 100.000 - 25.000 (25%) = 75.000 and then - 45.000 (60%) = 30.000

?

Error with the 6000 - should be 10000.

So the anser is: it's one after the other (order doesn't matter) and not the two % added.

If you would use math correctly, you would see that it does not matter.

you take 100.000 damage. 60% reduction means you only take 40% of the damage. that´s 40k. then you only take 75% of THAT damage, so 30k.
if you turn it around, you first take 75% of 100k, which is 75k. then you take only 40% of those 75k, which is also 30k.

You lean that in school pretty early on you know...

You somehow came to the conclusion that 25% of 40,000 is 6,000 rather than 10,000 in your first calculation.

edit:

but at least I know now that it is definitely not 85% but one after the other which also makes a big difference.
