It helps that basically no one inside that fandom doesn't care about Fighting is Magic. You can like or not like an episode, but if you identify as a brony, you probably liked/loved Fighting is Magic, if only for the sheer amount of work and love put into it (and those animations...gawd).

Mhmm. pretty much. I'm not a big huge fan of fighting games, but oh god Fighting is Magic peeked my interests, big time. And they were doing all of that for FREE, when they could have easily just been putting resources into original characters and such and could have charged for it.

I dunno. Pokemon's always struck me as a general sort of kids/teens show, not directed at any specific gender.

I guess maybe early pokemon. Pokemon now-a-days is targeted towards people who kind of grew up with it, from what i've been noticing. I don't know very many little kids, because that would be weird if I did, but the few I do know don't really care about pokemon, while when I was their age pokemon was the greatest thing ever.

Solazz was one I distinctly remember, but even if one didn't care about actually playing the game, it's hard to deny there was a lot of amazing work put into the animations, movesets, and music.
