Recoil damage isn't elemental in anyway I believe.

I would, BUT, My growlithe isn't level 45 yet. I got the fire stone now, so i have a reason TO GET IT TO 45 so it can become arcanine with a ton of awesome moves! \o/

Yes, it will still take the damage. The only ability that stops recoil damage is Sheer Force and it only prevents the recoil of Life Orb, Rock Head, and Magic Guard.

I don't mind the recoil, and I would only use flare blitz vs really strong pokemon anyways, becasue i'll still hate heat wave and MAYBE flame thrower if i dont feel like having outrage and crunch. I don't really need crunch since I have a dark type and it has STAB sooo yeah. We'll see

Arcanine learns extreme speed but growlithe doesn't. I want flare blitz and all that jazz over extreme speed. If extreme speed is a TM, then I will get it, but if not, then fuck it.
