Since Microsoft also owns Xbox, you can use pretty much all kinds of Xbox controllers on the PC unless they are wireless. I just went down to gamestop and bought one of their cheap Xbox 360 PC controllers, and I'm still using that now, even after 200+ hours of Dark Souls (as you can imagine I've thrown a few punches at it)

My wired XBOX 360 controller doesn't work with my PS2 or SNES emulator. I have to use my PS3 controller with MotioninJoy

My Xbox controller works perfectly with any kind of emulator... Though you have to go into the settings of the emulator and make it realize that moving your analog stick upwards actually means you want your character to go upwards.

They aren't that smart, those emulators.

So, since we're on the topic of controllers, I've never ever had one for the computer. Is there some specific kind of controller that would be needed? What kind of controller works with the widest amount of games?

The regular dualshock PS3 controller can be used on your PC with a simple driver installed, and, well, I suppose the XBOX360 controller works from the get-go?

Then there's the generic controllers from, say, Logitech, but their button mapping tends to be wonky.

The Xbox controller feels too clumsy to me, I've always had a playstation so the PS controller feels more natural. :>

I don't advocate drugs. I say that marijuana isn't something that you fall over and die of if you look at it, like 99% of the population thinks. I'm not saying you should go out and smoke rock, or even go out and smoke marijuana.

But I'm saying that if you want to do it, I see it strange that you can't, when you for the same amount of cash can go into town, chug some vodka and get pissed. So no, I don't advocate them, and they are certainly not something you should fuck around with if you have no idea what you're doing.
