and I don't really know since my screen is a TFT. I always use microfaber cloth and some cleaning spray made for screens and such stuff.

Umm, that's because he used a towel drenched in water. A slightly damp fine cloth should treat it jst fine.

Guess il go around pc stores or gamestop or something and see if they have any LCD screen cleaning kits they used to exist a long time ago.

Also for the monitorthingy, I have this spray thingy specifically meant for cleaning computer screens, I just use paper with it to clean the screen.

Pour a little water on your cloth of choice, make sure it's not soaking wet. Twist out most of the water just to be safe.

Proceed to clean your screen.

ah hmhm, yeah don't do that :/
as far as I know a towel is still too "rough" for sensitive screens so even if it didn't destroy it the chance is still high that he could've damaged it.

I use Wet Toilet Paper to clean my screens. Seems to work well enough
