Akamizu 10 man Raiding guild on Al'Akir

General Info

Akamizu is an English speaking end game raiding guild on Horde Al'Akir (EU). We were formed during the final months of WOTLK although many of our guild members have raided together since TBC days. We offer a mature and friendly guild environment with a serious but fun approach to raiding. While English is our shared language we have members from many countries including the UK, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, and the list goes on!

Raids

Raiding 3 Days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Tuesday 19.45 to 23.00.
We are currently a 10 man raiding guild.

For our progress raid we will pick the best setup for the fight while trying to treat people as fair as we can. And for farm raids we try and swap people around so that everyone gets a chance to get the same experience and obtain the gear they need.

What we need

We are currently recruiting all exceptional players however the specs and classes listed below are on the top of our list:

  • Hunter
  • Warlock
  • Elemental or Resto Shaman
  • Dk Tank or Dps
  • Priest Healer
  • Guardian Druid
  • Warrior Dps

Guild Community

In addition to the web site we also have a team speak server available to all members not just for raids but for socialising too. Several of our members spend their entire "in game" time on team speak so there is usually someone to chat to if you are feeling chatty. With a fair size roster of socials, alts and the core raiding team you will usually find someone to group with for heroics, battlegrounds, lfr or questing. If achievements are your thing then we also have several members with a lot of achievement points who can help (and compete) with you for the number one spot

Guild Perks

As a level 25 guild we have all the perks, additionally we keep a well stocked guild bank with some items available for a discounted purchase price, core raiders get an allocated amount for raid repairs and we often supply food and flasks for the main raids. We have many maxed out professions in the guild and access to hundreds of craft-able recipes.

Loot System (Main Raids Only)

Akamizu currently use a loot council consisting of 3 members, a Tank, a Healer and a DPS. The loot council tracks what loot is distributed and will decide which member receives loot where multiple members need it for a particular spec (MS > OS). The decision is made taking into account many factors such as previously received loot, value of upgrade, attitude and raid attendance, preparation and performance. Note quest items, BOE drops and recipes are excluded. BOE items must be equipped during the raid by members who are given them. Loot council decisions are absolute, so once a decision has been made it shouldn't be questioned afterwards.

What we expect

At Akamizu we expect everyone to work as a team even if it means you have to sit out some nights, do bosses you don't want to or not do bosses you do want to. A raid group consists of more than one person and it is impossible for us to please every person every time. The council's commitment to you is to get raids going, our commitment as guildies to each other should be to help make that happen. There are things each raider can do to make things run more smoothly.

BE PREPARED - read up on tactics and watch the videos. Raid Leaders should NOT have to explain them to you. You are all grown up and quite capable of reading up on the fights - please do so. This will make the raids run more smoothly and more quickly = more time on bosses!

BE PREPARED - yes I say it again, this time make sure you have the right gear (fully gemmed and enchanted), the right spec (fully glyphed), the right consumables (we do often provide but don't expect or rely on that - be self-sufficient)

BE PREPARED - spotted the theme yet? Make sure you have the necessary addons you need, as a bare minimum you should have DBM or big wigs AND you should have it set-up so you can see the important information without having it called out to you by a RL/officer. If you need some help with setting up your UI don't be shy to ask! You can track everything and so you should.

LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES - everyone messes up but if you do make a mistake, learn from it, try not to let it happen again, don't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. If you are unsure - speak up and ask the question. One of the biggest mistakes we see are people not paying attention or being aware enough during a fight.

Remember - a dead DPS does NO DPS, a dead healer does NO HEALING (except if you're a priest with Spirit of Redemption :P), a dead tank does NO TANKING. Even losing one raider during a fight can be enough to cause a wipe as it puts strain on everyone else - we need everyone to play their part and everyone to be on top of their game.

Finally just a note on raid etiquette. Please do not afk. As part of your preparation to raid, go to the bathroom, get a drink, whatever you need. Once the raid starts the RL will call a break at some point - please try and wait until then, don't keep everyone else in the raid waiting on YOU! Additionally during a fight please maintain silence on TS unless the fight requires some communication (e.g. tanks calling for a taunt, healers calling for hymn) it can be very distracting for others if non-pertinent information is called out during the fight.

If this sounds interesting to you make sure to add Shocko#2580 or log onto Al'Akir and whisper an officer
