TBH atm I really don't know. I seem to have morassed myself into a niche of vampires and werewolves atm. Kim Harrison, Laurell K. Hamilton, Kelly Armstrong and the like. But I'm not limited to just that. I have all the Robin Hobb books (except the most recent. Waiting on a paperback edition to be released), all the G.R.R Martin, Tolkien and Pratchett all present. It doesn't help that I have half my library present and the other half in storage on the other side of the country. If you were to throw out ideas, I would probably be able to say if I've read/own them or not.

Dresden Files by Jim Butcher has werewolves and vampires and isn't crap like most of the current fantasy stuff. Joe Abercrombie kind of does what Robin Hobb does but he is a much better Author.

If you like Martin and actually like magic and other races and whatnot then Steven Erikson is a god among mortals.

I liked that book, it was erm...really good, imo.

Unfortunatly that was one of the series I was referring to earlier, someone gave me The Blade Itself, which means I have the first book in what looks like could be a rather brilliant trilogy and no actual way to get my hands on the second and third book. I'm not even kidding when I say thats close to torture.

I think you can poke the local library into getting books, I'll have to try that out.
