Please do more research before you post trying to sound all high and mighty. Both of the bolded items were DROPS from the boss, hence part of the RNG. There was no collecting items from anywhere, or defeating multiple bosses to acquire them. They were kill, loot, equip.

I much prefer this system; no more grinding raids forever and a day to get other people stuff and let them experience exclusive cool moments as it was in cata.

That's a terrible argument considering his point was that those weapons indicated prestige. Which they undoubtedly did because not many people actually managed down Illidan in 2.1 or KJ in 2.4.

What? This was awesome...until our mage got a new job and couldn't raid with us anymore

You guys need some compassion. To many, orange text is the closing thing they have to having achieved something in life.

Don't take that away from them.

Your thoughts on the "legendary" item this expansion?
So that means all legendaries should be greens then cause I can easily go back and farm legendaries from past expansions. What about the caster staff from Cata? I saw that giant blue dragon in Org almost everyday. Basically from what it looks like, it takes the idea of legendaries but instead of a guild responsibility, it is a personal responsibility. I would agree with you if all the legendary questline was, "kill this boss, get the legendary", but it isn't. Until you can provide proof on how exactly this whole legendary quest is gonna work out, you can't claim it isn't a legendary.

My thought is that a Loot Council and greedy GM cannot control who gets what. It all revolves around player efforts, as it should of always been.

The legendary weapons should be powerful weapons not rare like they were.
I mean, you will grind the raid for months only to see it once or twice during the whole expansion? That's not cool, especially if you get it on one of your last raids before the expansion is over.
Also it doesn't really matter if everyone has it, you can still see who's better than who with it.

This is actually the most interesting Legendary so far, you don't have to kill the same boss for 6 months to get part of it.

Assuming you have to do the entire line of quests to see the very final bit of whatever form it ultimately takes, an expansion later, the MoP legendary will be very legendary and time consuming to obtain indeed.

yah when you think about it long term anyone who wants the mists legendary next expansion will either need to lock their xp a 90 and run lfr till they finish it or get together a bunch of other people and farm the raids.

Except no one will do LFR anymore, try getting into DS LFR with a 85 today.

still it would be the only choice for some people on low pop realms.

My thoughts? It's about damn time they used this model.

The way they handled legendaries in this expac is perfect IMO. They still require effort but they're actually obtainable to people who don't happen to be endowed with a prime raid spot in a raiding guild and are lucky enough to be the person that gets the legendary made for them. I don't give a damn about what everyone else has, I only care about what I have. The fact that the legendary is actually obtainable for me this time around is nothing short of amazing to me. I honestly hope Blizzard does more things like this in future expacs. Being part of the quest line in the game is awesome.

So we should go back to a legendary just being an epic with a 0.01% drop?

Got a good feeling the last part of the legendary will either require downing a certain hard mode or getting a certain amount of items from a regular raid, yes, the first parts of the legendary quest were, easy, but I don't think blizz will let you complete the whole thing using strictly LFR.

It's a word; a label. And a harmless one at that. People that get exercised about this don't have enough in their life to do.

I love the way people look down their noses at LFR and act as if running NMs for a month or two is some kind of major achievement. When I got my daggers we'd been clearing farm content for months in our sleep (and IIRC mostly HMs by that stage too).

Hey, that's spot on. Btw pixels in a videogame never meant anything to people with - let me phrase this politically correct - enough in their life to do.
