Depending on the budget, if you could give us a budget we could work with, we could somewhat estimate how it would play.

With a GTX 650Ti you should be getting good playable FPS in close to ultra settings. Just lowering shadows, SSAO and perhaps AA would make it really nice for you.

I have a 100% stock computer I bought at Bestbuy almost exactly a year ago and I run every game I play on max settings (WoW,SC2,D3,SWTOR) I have no idea why people blow so much money on gaming computers.

That statement says pretty much nothing. There is not a single hint as to what hardware it is in your computer, no mentioning of resolution or the FPS you play at.

Now, I mean I already ordered the computer sadly to say. But Im gonna wind up picking up a http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desk...force-gtx-650/ (Is there much difference between the 650 and 650ti Im being told not really) I also ready I would need to get a bigger power supply since a 300 isnt enough for the 650. A 500 wat power supply is about 28$ and 600 wat 35$ is that normal?

Don't go for a cheap power supply, it's the worst thing you can do when shopping hardware.

That said, the 650 should be fine on a 300w PSU, provided the power supply isn't crap.

The 300 wat is the one the computer came with? You can check on the the link posted earlier.

He said going with http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Coolmax+...pply&cp=2&lp=1 or
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Coolmax+...pply&cp=2&lp=3

Would be better because he said on a 300wat you will probably burn the card out is that right?
650ti and 650 are basicly the same thing?

Because A) there are a lot of people that play far more demanding games than the ones you listed and B) the fact that you describe your computer as a 100% stock machine from Best Buy without any other qualifications kind of shows that you have no idea what you're talking about.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/681?vs=680 there is a big difference between them, specially on higher resolutions like 1920x1080.

Personally I wouldn't touch either of those PSUs. Get a quality brand/model for a bit more money. This for example http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=632...X&promoid=1201

Hmm kinda hard to compare with those bench marks when they are game I dont play but I do see what you are saying. As far as PSU what makes it a quality brand because that kinda seems expensive for only 450w mind you this is coming from something that has little experience

Also from looking around they said like the best you can really run with a 300wat (what is currently has) is something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127586
How does that compare to the 650 is it like complete shit

The wattage makes little difference as long as it's high enough to supply power to everything. A power supply is not something to skimp on in terms of quality, especially when the cost difference between a cheap one and a good one is fairly small.

Assuming with a shit power supply you could easily screw your whole computer up?

That XFX 450W is 80+ bronze certified which means it has gone through serious quality testing to get this certification. It also has really marks from pretty much every review it has been in. The OEM for this PSU is Seasonic which is well known for their top notch quality products.

As for the difference between a 6670 and a 650 the difference is really big.
    6670 vs 650
    6670 vs 650Ti

depending on the whole setup i would honestly recommend a 450w psu, preferably name brand like Corsair. It gives some room for aging capacitors if he decides to upgrade the vid card at a later date and not the psu.

  15. #35
I think Ill buy the 450 you recommend and the 650 my next pay check depending on how bad the FPS is on this new computer. thanks for all the help

If you are going to switch the PSU you might as well build the whole computer, it is probably the most demanding part of the whole build.

Next time you should probably ask these questions before you place the order. There's really not a whole lot of sense in asking whether you should buy something after you've already done so.
