New Dino Skins

Why did they have to change, and ruin, the skins on the new Dinosaurs in 5.2? The original skins were so much more vibrant with much better shading and detail than these new washed out looking ones. I'm especially sad about the changes to the blue Devilsaur, which had one of the most incredible skins I've ever seen, and the blue Direhorn which also had much better shading and color gradations before the changes.

What they do to the Pterrorwings I could care less about since I think they are horribly ridiculous looking to begin with. They have heads that look like the snapjaws from Donkey Kong Jr. and the wings are equally terrible. Thank God they aren't tameable so I don't have to see people running around with them.

I grabbed a pic from Petopia showing the differences in the Green and Blue Direhorns. The old skin is at the top with the new one under it.

well, those new skins look alot cooler imo. although the old ones were cool too, these make the Dire Horns more fierce in their appereance.

However, I believe Horridon still uses the old blue skin.

I like the old ones better. But it's nothing too disturbing.

Old ones were more in-tune with WoW's classic art design, which was intentionally oversaturated and vibrant, like a cartoon.

New ones are more in-tune with WoW's recent art design moves, which is trying to look grittier, more toned-down, realistic, detailed, and generally shift away from the 'cartoony' design and try to look more like other games.

So, I'm guessing the new ones were chosen because they fit the forward design philosophy better.
