I always thought it was a stupid ability and was surprised that it even made it into MoP. Happy to see it go. And I'm looking at it from a pure design/gameplay perspective. Who cares about some rage/dps loss. That's not the point. Except for the players who would fart in their own mouth if it gave them an extra 0,5% dps.

you ALWAYS thought it was stupid? I thought it was pretty damn good when it allowed the use of abilities regardless of rage. After they changed it it became less valuable, but an extra HS here and there is going to add up. It's not about DPS at this point, but total damage. several hundred thousand damage can make or break that wipe at 1% hp.

Deadly Calm wasn't that amazing, but it was still a dps increase, no matter how slight. When used during CS, it allowed you to get more heroic strikes in during the duration of CS.....resulting in more dps than most people think.
Assuming almost capped rage since you should be pooling rage before cs comes up, deadly calm doesn't increase the amount of heroic strikes you get inside the debuff. It's a set 6 seconds. If Deadly Calm increased the duration of CS debuff it would indeed increase the amount of heroics strikes inside a cs debuff. But that isn't the case.

the point is that it has the potential to increase the number inside a CS. Assuming DC is used right before or att he same time as CS, you can fit 4 HS under one CS (4 GCDs per use of CS).

I'm not going to lose sleep over the removal of it or the loss of 30 rage. Seemed out of place and kind of pointless, would have been much more useful as a passive.

This might be totally off but I believe the main thing is that most classes soon won't be able to fit all their abilities on their bars and for those that do it, bind all of them. I think blizzard might start to look at unfun abilities with minor impact - or moderate impact in specific situations but minor impact overall, like Deadly Calm. It is a dps increase currently. But the dps difference between having and not having it is really, really small. In their(theoretical) quest to decrease the number of abilities before it goes out of hand (already has for classes like Shaman and Warlock) maybe Deadly Calm is where they started.

Meh, won't miss it in its current form, but jeez blizz, lay off the removals. I can't barely keep track of the shit warriors lost.

Maybe that would involve too much APM though for average player to "handle well", don't know about that.
On a side note I would like HS to work like a next attack buff too, but instead of giving a "cleaving buff" it would simply buff the next ability to do some extra damage, like extra ~30%.
How does a bringing back a Dumbass Designed Heroic Strike and Cleave can fix anything ? (On Next Attack crap)

I didn't care for it when it was first introduced, was happy to see it gone for a while, didn't care for its return and now happy to see it gone again.

I see no need for Deadly Calm, gets mixed in with CS and other cds and it's not an interesting cd.

I probably won't even notice it's gone. No different from Inner Rage, just something you macro'd into Cleave and forgot about.
