With the support of a mod, I've decided to go ahead and finally make this thread, conveniently placed in Fun Stuff so as to not make it look like we, who already have bigger post counts than several users combined, are farming post count.

... That is if anyone else chooses to join me in this... Q.Q

To start things off, I thought I would take us back to a time when there was hardly a soul above 10k posts, much less as close to 20,000 as -Apathy- now seems to be. O_o

New Forum Titles are here!
The new titles are finally deployed on the forums and I'm only a few months late! Hopefully it will make the regular forum posters happier and it will be an awesome opportunity for the 40 new moderators I will promote tomorrow to ban hundreds of people trying to boost their post count. See the list below, the post count required for the last 3 titles will remain secret for the moment, it's ridiculously high anyway.

I recall a number of us nerds being on the edge of our seats, for we had heard these were coming, but didn't know when. Then, I checked that day's news on the front page, and lo and behold, the new titles were here at last! Having been Deltrus the Insane (RIP) in WoW, I saw the 'The Insane' title and knew I must strive for it, but back then, oh it seemed like such a task. Now, with having seen -Apathy- getting it at 15,000 and over 2 years later I am so close, even though I have long since moved on from WoW, I still hope to one day have my title I worked so hard for back again, where I can wear it with pride once more.

Now, however, it has become something more. I've realized I'm sticking with mmo-champion, beyond my WoW days, thanks to the amazing atmosphere over on the computer forums and good competition I have with vesseblah, who probably doesn't even realize he's been in my crosshairs for a good year (another user once told me I'd never catch and pass him, I DID IT!) and frankly, the community is just awesome. I've moved into other sections and just love discussing games, computers, audio, and the like, and the odd topic in gen off-topic.

You might be wondering, what's the purpose of this thread? Well I thought, you know, there's really no way we can keep good track on the high post count people and I thought, maybe if we are all (or some of us) here and get to know each other, we can at the same time, push more people and each other to up their post counts, but in the way that keeps you from getting in trouble (I learned my lesson that one time...) and it will only strengthen the community bonds.

Obviously some will think this is stupid, childish, silly, but I say nay! Why does it have to be? The ancient and still alive website www.newgrounds.com, while having stuff people actually voted on whether to keep on the website or not (audio and videos) it also had neat forum titles among other ranks to up, and it gave a sense of pride and dignity in the work you have completed. Boub started it with giving us these fancy titles, why not recognize them with pride? I'm not saying boast, but have chats, discuss what your dream forum title, is/was like I did, or what new ones you'd like to see added.... Since we know now that The Insane is at the 15,000 mark thanks to -Apathy- (don't believe any other non-mods got there before him) we can make an educated guess the final title is probably at 25,000, but WoW has seen so many new titles added since this! Agent of Shen'dralar and the like!

My philosophy, is to up my post count with as many meaningful posts as possible. Whether they are helping people in the computer forums, or discussing current events in gen off-topic, to talking about Rift, Path of Exile, or other video games in their designated forums. I'd like to hear from others, whether you are already up at this tier of post count or have a dream to be, tell us why and who (user) or what (title) you have your eyes set on!

Hopefully that about gets the thread on a roll!

Would be interesting to see post-count changes if Fun Stuff posts started counting. Wasn't there someone with like 60k posts?

I think Fun-Stuff is best kept to not counting, people can post really just about anything here, and there are the chat threads. While sure, sometimes people post things with lots of meaning, I still think it would cause a lot of issues. Perhaps some threads deserve to be in gen off-topic or posts could spark a discussion there or in some other section, I think most of it isn't really worth counting. :P

But yeah... 60,000, wasn't that one of the MLP folks?

Well..I had over 11000 posts on incgamers forum. Started in the Diablo 2 days and carried over to WoW - but eventually MMO -C got more interesting...and active.

So..closing in on 12k - is that still Titan as a title?

Yeah, 15,000 is when you get the Insane. I'm guessing 20,000 and 25,000 are for the last two.

"The Unstoppable Force" is a bit anticlimatic, but "The Insane" is an awesome title
Just keep deleting posts after that point!

How it sounds, for sure, but the sort of controversialness of it and WoW Vanilla is I think what really gives it that extra zing.

Yes, it's called, "The Procrastinator" I would totally try and get that one.

I do find that getting involved in the computer forums here helped start my personal WoW downfall. It became that I was spending more time talking in the forums than playing WoW, oddly enough. Soon enough I quit and have sometimes gone for days at a time where all I've really done is partake in the forums and not game really at all. XD

Also, I think the next, undiscovered tittle, is only given to those that reach 20k posts, maybe 25k posts, so, Wells and Apathy are the ones that are pretty close to getting 20k posts atm(not counting any mods since their tittles don't change).

So we'll see if it changes or not but I honestly think the next tittle after the The Insane is only at 25k, and the last one, I wouldn't be surprised if it was only at 50k posts.

Fun Stuff posts do not count towards your post count, neither does the ones in the Guild Recruitment forums.
