    Computer build

My cousin wants to build a computer for his niece.

He wants a i5 3570 and a aftermarket cooler i told him he didn't need one but wants it just to keep the thing cold, and a newer graphics card. Needs everything except keyboard mouse monitor and windows.

    Budget is 900 dollars.

With that build, you could get probably an Antec VP-450, and a slightly cheaper motherboard, and that may be enough to squeeze in an SSD (or an OS if you need one)

I'm assuming your cousin is in the US.
Toffie's build is fine though I suggest 3 changes.

Change CPU cooler from Hyper 212+ to Xigmatek Gaia (Save $5, still a great performing cooler)
Change MOBO from ASRock Extreme4 to ASRock Pro3 (Save $25-35, still have a $10 mail-in rebate)
Swap GPU from Gigabyte 660 Ti to Asus 660 Ti which has arguably a better cooling solution ($10 cheaper, and you still have $20 mail-in rebate)

Money could be put into a slightly more costly case, a semi-modular PSU if desired or more hard drive space.

If you dropped the HDD to 500GB, you might be able to fit a SSD(64GB) into the budget.
If there is a microcenter nearby, you can save $40 by purchasing the CPU/Mobo together. Then put that savings into a 120-128GB SSD.

Looking through reviews the gigabyte have better cooling out of those 2? If you do need an SSD op I'll gladly swap around to make room for it.

    No sir.

That's just a review of mid level 660 ti's. In reviews that put each brand's top tier model with their "best cooling solution" against each other, Asus comes out ahead by a margin(sometimes a small one).

Although we are not talking about Gigabyte's triple fan sported cards. We're talking about a much cheaper dual fan solution.
Don't take this as brand bashing. Gigabyte is a great brand with great products. However, I can not suggest a Gigabyte card when the equivalent Asus card is available at a cheaper cost while providing better performance(Sound, temperature, overclocking).

I would consider a 128-256 SSD or none at all. 64gb is surprisingly restrictive. Between OS and Games, 64 is a super tight fit.

Only when looking at it from our perspective, where WoW for example can easily eat up 20 gigs if not kept in check. However, that does not mean that every game out there will take up as much space.

64GB SSD can function just fine. It depends completely on the user whether or not it feels restrictive.
In my case, I imagine I'd be quite angry trying to micromanage my large scale games between a 64GB SSD.

That said, it is quite possible to fit a 120-128GB SSD on a $900 budget. I requested the help of the forum for a $850-900 budget rig recently. Although my build utilizes a nearby Microcenter. Without the Microcenter option, it definitely would not have been possible on that budget.
