    Notebook Graphics Cards

I am shopping around for notebooks for my wife and me and I am hit with a decision between 2 graphics cards:

    NVIDIA® GeForce® GT650M
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX660M

Now, typically I would side with the GTX being a more gaming grade card, however when I look at Notebookcheck, the benchmarks between the 2 cards place the GTX at a negligible performance gain and I'm not sure if it justifies the increase in cost.

    Any thoughts on these two?

Which version of the GT 650M are we talking here?
    1GB, 2GB, DDR3, GDDR5?

In case you didn't already guess, it comes in a variety.

Both cards I'm looking at are 2GB. The GTX is DDR5, GT is DDR3

You will see more performance out of the GTX 660M compared to the GT 650M due to memory bandwidth as well as effective core clock. Somewhere around 10-15% in most games. Whether the cost difference is worth a 10-15% performance increase is up to you.

The GT 650M is an overclock beast, but the GDDR5 models are the real performers when it comes to overclocking.
EDIT - If it were between a GDDR5 model GT 650M and the GTX 660M, I would have said to go with the 650M.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look more into the 650 options and see if there are GDDR5 models available, if not, looks like the GTX it is

ive read that the 650m and 660m are the same cards with different clock speeds. after looking up the specs it definetly seems like this is the case. the forum i read also went to say the 660m's are higher binned cards, or the "pick of the litter".
