Assitance with H Will (10) strat

Weve had three night of attempt on Heroic 10 man Will and furthest we keep hitting a wall. We've done both the burn strat and CC strat and so far it seems niether is working (burn is far better than the CC strat atm) were at a loss at what to tweak atm. Were killing the courage in our last couple of attempts.

Setup is Prot pally and feral Druid. Heals: Disc Priest and Resto Druid. Dps:Frost DK, Ret pally tanking the Strengths and every 4th Strength spark Hunter and Spriest alternating soaking the rage sparks, Monk soaking the first 3 Strength sparks, then subsequent 3 sparks after each 4th spark and a Elemental Shaman.
We have a Mage and Warrior on the roster that we can switch out. Any help would be appreciated and apologies for the horrible post setup

How To Make a Useful "Why are we wiping on this boss" Thread Ok, you edited in some useful information, but there are huge blank spaces now...

I could of helped but I don't really like scrolling up and down 5 pages worth of text to read your 10 lines of text.

    Try again.

    Now that's better.

If you are having issues with healing/mana; have your ele shaman glyph telluric currents and use Healing Rain on CD on the raid, and/or have your shadow priest spec cascade and use it on the raid on CD.

Also, do you have 9 guys + mage/warrior or 10 guys + mage/warrior, since I only counted 9 in your post.

Well first off i dont see how your soaking courage sparks so assign a dedicated soaking player for that, the way we had the most success was to assign a dps one with a fairly short cast and low cd to cc one of the sparks (we did Left or Back ) in the sets of 2 while all other dps nuke the other one attempting to keep it as close to the wall as possible stuns slows etc.

A rogue can carry this fight pretty hard with feint but since you dont have one might need to just have to nuke both so that someone can solo soak remember that a resto druid can get a 2 min deter from symbiosis thus giving you another immunity for extreme circumstances.

When you have the intermission phase let the one dps finish the strength while rest of the dps go onto the boss personally we use lust fairly early to help burn the last strength before the boss's jump out so we can get some dmg on the boss and have time for a 2nd lust near the end of the fight where it gets more hectic

This is how I would do it:

Kill every set of rages as they come out. Get them slowed asap; don't be afraid to stun them too. Kill them together in time and space. Soak 2 sparks at a time.

Have your Warrior go prot and tank strengths way in the back (near where rages spawn). Courages will also target your Warrior, giving you more time. Your Warrior will be able to eat every strength spark and some stray courage sparks.

    Sparks:
    • Rages: Hunter (1m Deterrence) > SPriest (Dispersion) > Hunter > Monk (Diffuse Magic)
    • Strength: Warrior (do prot things; ask for a PW:S before too)
    • Courages: rDruid (Sym Deterrence), Mage (gInvis, Iceblock, Cauterize, Blink), Monk (Zen Med)

You have a pretty good group for this. Just communicate and be flexible.

You didn't really specify what part of the fight is giving you trouble and your post is pretty mangled, so this is the best information I can provide.

Whats your actual issue? Very hard to help when the only lead is: We're hitting a wall.

Sorry for the utter muck up on the forum post. Didn't expect that paragraphs were done by spaces when you post and thus chaos insued. The wall were having we think, within the first 10% a tank dies or melee dies. If it a healing issue, is it best to keep the druid on raid and priest on tanks and switch if one needs to kite?

Are your tanks getting hit by the arcs? If so, that's why they're dying. Why a melee is on the boss and not adds during the first 10%, I don't know, but they're likely also getting hit by arcs. You should really log your raids or at least ask people why they died. Tons of addons produce death logs or people can just look in their own combat log or even pay attention to what's happening around them and to them.

Your healers need to be dynamic. Tanks take bursty damage and the entire raid takes constant damage. Healing assignments don't exist in 10man for the most part.

For the most part tanks arent getting hit by the arcs, though it happens once in a blue moon to get a stack, and we make sure at the 8th arc we have enough HP/rage to pop a CD when the bosses come out of the dance phases. Melee are dying to the rages meleeing them actually, even when there not fixated on said melee that is dying. Wish I could post a link to WoL, but need some more posts to do so. Thanks for the assistance Squirl

If the rages get rooted, they will attack anyone in range. Roots sometimes do weird things to their fixate too, causing them to completely ignore it for 5s+ after roots break. Any hard CC will make them choose a new fixate target, so use them. Make sure you're getting slows on them too.

If your Hunter doesn't have it already, Binding Arrow is really helpful on this fight. He should keep Frost Traps down too and use Snake Trap for clutch roots (if SV). Earthbind Totem is also really good on this fight. If your Mage is frost, the adds should never be at full speed. Keep them slowed and stunned and they shouldn't be an issue, but melee do need to be careful.

We used a DK in DPS Gear in Blood Spec to tank the strengths. He soaked every spark that came from the Strengths. That way, the courages would mostly target him also instead of charging towards our tanks.

This fight just takes planning. You need to sit down with the adds spawn list and assign soaks to each one and make sure people know their role in depth. We found the burn strategy much easier to go with. We had a rotation for the Sparks, Warlock would take every 2nd courage, alternating with another DPS with a single CD.

If tanks are dying, they are probably getting hit by the ark which is bad news. If the melee is dying from the strength, that needs fixed asap.

It is hard on heals but healers don't need the DPS all at 100% health the entire fight. Make sure you stack on burn phase for AOE heals and are stacking as much as possible during adds as well.

Have your monk and frost DK alternate their AoE stuns on the rages when killing them. If they're not killed after that, they need to pop some kind of defensive cooldown or just run away because they should be close to death as they do hit fairly hard.

Have your tanks communicate when the devastating combo is coming as you can pretty much heal the rest of the raid up during this part and ignore tanks then throw spot heals on them when the bosses are meleeing the tanks while focusing the tanks. Druid should have savage defense and save his tooth and claw for the next phase. Pop barkskin whenever it's up and you're tanking the boss. Paladin should glyph his divine protection and pop it on cooldown when the boss is meleeing. I think going holy avenger is good for this fight as well. He should almost have a cooldown for each melee phase. Good thing for popping cooldowns is the first phase as the transition is the hardest part of the fight. Healers don't be afraid to pop cooldowns as well for healing the tank. If all goes well, no one should be taking any extra damage as most likely extra damage = dead and the biggest damage of the fight occurs on the tanks.
