Looking to get a new monitor for gaming

I've been looking around online for a new monitor to replace my 32 inch Vizio TV that I've been using for a monitor. It still works great for videos and stuff but not for games. I'm looking for a 24 inch minimum size monitor and my max budget is $170. I'm in the dark as to what a good gaming monitor is so any info would be greatly appreciated.
