    Asus ROG ARES II review.

Really impressive performance, Quadfire is just sick. Sadly they still have issues with frametimes even with the latest beta driver.
Dynamic Frame Control helps a bit with the frametimes but it requires some extra work and you have to lock the framerate in every game.

Edit: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/ARES_II/ review in English up now.

AS nice and cool looking as it is, it looks kind of disappointing to me.

It's absolute shit for the price...
The card is nowhere near performance to dollar compared to 690, 7970 or 680.
It sucks and incredible amount of power per FPS compared to 690, 680 and 7970.

Personal POV, it's not even aesthetically pleasing.

In terms of aesthetics, you either love it or you hate it. I think it's fine, but nothing stellar.

They might have a collective value to them, and probably not meant to sell them all, but I do see his point. They always release these cards towards the end of the current period and everyone is looking at them and thinking "Can't we just have the next series now". If they released it mid-point of the current series it might be a bit more grasping, but having this towards the end of the series, for it to only be bottle necked by the CPU, is very very underwhelming.

Given that TTL's quadfire 7970 and quad-sli 680 tests were CPU bottlenecked back in April or May (IIRC), is this really surprising?

still cpu issues aside, that cooling works even better then expected for cooling 2 chips.
call me crazy but what if such a cooling solution would be tossed on the next mystery card ; titan?
perhaps with haswell being overclocked like mad the cpu problems can be reduced. h
However fact of the matter is that cards like this are still in "overkill" section by a longshot for me that would just be another reason to buy it.

If you have £1200 to spend on a GPU, I'm sure you can afford a custom water cooling loop. Chances are people who buy this will probably add their own water cooling blocks and add it into their loop. You could argue it for the medium-high ranged cards, but do they really need it?
