Whats the first thing you think of when the topic is USA/Canada?

Genuinely curious what you guys think when you first see the words USA and Canada.

I love both countries for their distinct personalities.

This can apply to other countries of course. eg. Mexico-- beaches.

The first words that come to my mind, right now:

    For USA: Weapons.

    For Canada: Snow.

I'm probably influenced by the media.

The first thing I thought was "debate" when I saw the title, as for the topic at hand.....

Canada, first thing that springs to mind is wargames . British army hold live fire exercises there every year using live ammunition, we use live mortar rounds, bullets, tanks, jets, helicopters........The lot. We blow the shite out of everything then get drunk after. Jolly good fun.

When I think of the USA, sadly the first thing that springs to mind is gun crime and crazy people. I visit the USA a minimum of 4 times a year and for the most part everybody is really friendly and really excited to buy me drinks, all I have to do is speak in my English accent and tell bullshit stories about the British armed forces. I know the USA is not a bad place and I have a lot of American friends, but it only takes one bad apple to spoil the cartload.

I just prepare myself for the rest of the world to bash my country out of jealousy (half joking on the jealousy)

USA - When reading the forum it tends to be a 'What now' sort of reaction especially with some of the recent threads.

Canada - Milk in a bag

When Canada and America are used together the first word I think of is "brothers"
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Canada - Ice Hockey of course.
USA - There is not one certain thing that sticks out for me. The gun debate is one of the first things I think about though, since it's a hot topic, but I've given up on that one, can't be bothered to care about it. ;P

Canada is really obvious to my mind though!
The nerve is called the "nerve of awareness". You cant dissect it. Its a current that runs up the center of your spine. I dont know if any of you have sat down, crossed your legs, smoked DMT, and watch what happens... but what happens to me is this big thing goes RRRRRRRRRAAAAAWWW! up my spine and flashes in my brain... well apparently thats whats going to happen if I do this stuff...

Canada- i always assume its about Hockey or maple syrup
    USA - crazy people.

(not saying Americans are crazy people, but like 90% of the worlds crazy news stories come from there)

Canada - I think about the country itself, snow, ice etc
USA - guns, because that's all I hear about recently

When I see US or USA in the title I generally (and usually safely) can assume there are a bunch of presumptuous Europeans running their ignorant mouths about how shitty Americans are.
