I've pretty much been a "gamer" since I was able to operate a games console and still am at the age 22. Honestly, I have to disagree with you about Assassins Creed, in my opinion that game doesn't make anybody a gamer, it's a casual game that fucking sucks. I've tried to like it because the concept of playing in old times is pretty cool but it's a God of War game, you spam the same attack commands until you beat the game. R1 or what ever button it is and Square to counter attack = win. I personally find no enjoyment playing a game with those features. Plus the hole thing about you go on a bed that sends you back in time to do shit for the future is really shit, why can't you just stick to the past? It would have been a hell of a lot better off. But that's just my matter of opinion.

I love The Legend of Zelder, but I don't "Worship" it, nor do my other friends who have gamed for about as long as I have. That's the first time I have heard that.
Gamers are all different, they either love Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mairo and many others and also depending on when they was born.

I'm sorry that's happening to you. I feel like that too sometimes, especially when I first say to someone "I play World of Warcraft" and they automatically assume I spend 24/7 playing it. WoW seems to be publicly seen as a game for people with "no-lives"...

The ones I knew were the Mushroom from Mario because its hard to NOT know Mario, the triangles from Zelda because its pretty common to see. The Pokeball obviously, and gears of war at the bottom.

Tell them you're not a gamer and that yo only pay wow. I generally assume those that play wow know about most other games, because that seems to be the trend. I don't think people are mad at you. I think you're just mad you're being called a gamer with the social stigma attached to it

Sounds like anyone who "listens to music" and just flips the radio on as opposed to being a "music lover" and having a selection of music, or anything as such. Playing a game or two wouldn't really constitute being a "gamer" in my opinion. Many start off playing something and might like it, and that's fine. Does that mean they might like other games? Sure! But that doesn't HAVE to be true. You might just be a fan of WoW, being your case. Video games have become a standard in pretty much every household, so it's something to consider as a form of entertainment, no different than watching a movie, with the exception of more interaction (unless you're playing Xenosaga).

And regarding the picture? Whatever. You don't NEED to know what logos they are, it's about as important as knowing the shapes of breakfast cereals. The only thing that's "retarded" are those who make the judgement. Gamers, Music Lovers, Sports fanatics, yeah there's always somebody bashing someone because they don't know anything more than that one category. I'm here to tell you, much like the points on "Whose Line is it Anyway?" - they don't matter.

a hardcore gamer is anyone who makes gaming a main part of their life and actively seeks out new games and experiences, regardless of skill or ability to buy things.

Even though I can only name four of those symbols (Mario shroom, AC logo, Triforce and Pokeball), I consider myself a gamer because I do play games. It's not something that I am ashamed of or angry about because if I were, what is the point of playing a game? I play WoW and LoL, with a rare occasion of playing an RTS game if I am in a mood (Starcraft 2, Warcraft 2 / 3, Stronghold Crusaders / Legends, Age of Mythology), but that's pretty much all the games I've ever played. I tried Call of Duty because of friends but I don't like it. I've never seen, let alone played, Assassin's Creed, Portal, any FPS game etc.

Because people in my country know all the games ever, when they ask me if I am a gamer, I answer with: "I am a WoWer and a LoLer." That way, they may get a hint that I don't play any other game but these two, but I still classify myself as a gamer.

Anyone ways I think a gamer is..just anyone who plays games. You can just play one game or many, it does not matter.

Yeah... I get called a gamer, and frankly I do not play games. I play ONLY TEAM FORTRESS 2, and that's mostly because I like talking to the people I play with. I got some major games, half life, mass effect, assassin creed 3, hitman, and frankly I just don't enjoy them. I think the story is AWESOME, but I don't want to play them because... I just don't like playing games anymore, I feel like I am over it.

I'd played all those games but I couldn't remember the Metroid or Kingdom Hearts ones, in my defense I haven't played Metroid since the snes. I don't really see why it would be considered bad not to know many of them, if I hadn't inherited my brothers old consoles I probably wouldn't know some either.

Wooh, I knew the Kingdom Hearts logo even though I never saw it before, I only know the name. To me that means it's a good logo.

Pretty much everyone is labeled a gamer these days, even if you only visit Farmville once a week. People like to put others in boxes, even when they claim they don't like being labeled themselves.

The only videogame I play is World of Warcraft, I play it a lot but I'm in no means a gamer. To me, gamers are a social group that are unified in videogames and the joy of playing them. They geek about the latest Assassin's Creed, they worship Legend of Zelda like a religion, they judge every new videogame with a fine-toothed comb while others silently nod to themselves.

Me:

- Own no other gaming systems, only a laptop
- Never played Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and dabbled in Mario 64 when it first came out.
- The last shooter game I played was Gears of War 2 back when it was first released, I played it a lot with my friends at the time.
- I was a little old for Pokemon when it first came out, It never caught on with me or my friends, my now wife introduced me to it a few years ago and I love it, but haven't played it since summer of 2012.
- Dont have a Steam account, Gamestop account, etc. etc. Only pay for WoW.


I play WoW as a casual but do play whenever I have a lot of freetime. Between raising a new family, working full time 50 hours a week and spending time with my friends I don't have time to play anything BUT WoW. Prior to WoW, I rarely played any videogames or read about them, though I'm up to date on all things WoW. The last game I played that wasn't WoW was Super Smash Brothers Brawl on a Wii during Christmas, I didn't know where any of the buttons were.

People make the instant conclusion that I'm a gamer because I play WoW, then get irritated when I don't know what Ocarina of Time is, anything about Halo nor do I know anything about PAX or Comiccon or anything.

I'm ranting because I got accused of being retarded, stupid etc. etc. Internet insulted (oh my) because I could only list about 4 of the logos in this picture

I don't want to be associated as "a gamer" as cool as some of them are, because I simply do not enjoy playing videogames. WoW is a rare exception because of how attached it became to my life.

Indicating that there's a down-side to being a gamer. Just shrug it off, tell them you're not and move on.

Now for the real reason I posted in here:

Can someone trade me signs? I really don't want the Halo sign. I will take literally, any gaming symbol out there that isn't the Halo one.
