If they dont acknowledge Palestine as a state, and continue to absorbe their territory, there will be massive international pressure to grant them Israeli citizenship, which will ultimately lead to a prime-minister Mohammed.

So this leaves Israel with the choice of losing their self proclaimed Jewish nation, or accepting Palestine as its own nation.

Nope we'll never see an end.
No I don't think they ever will.

And no i don't think we should particularly care.

We're seriously talking about land area one third the size of florida, and a total population of Israelis + Palestinians of like, 12 million, or slightly more people than the total population of Ohio.

Getting involved is the World's biggest No-Prize and and caring about it is the world's biggest waste of energy. Obama and Bush did the world a favor by saying "fuck it, we got other things to do" since 2006. The US should worry about Asia and China - places with money and billions of people, not another bit of Middle Eastern drama.

No it look like the government of Israel is trying a third way continue to absorbe the territory, and make the life of ordinary no-citizens life as hard and difficult as possible (or what government of Israel can get away with in the eyes of the world opinion) so the palestinians "voluntarily" emigrate. Each incident or act of Palestine terror give the government of Israel a argument to turning the thumbscrews a bit more.

Do we really? No we don't.

In early 2010, the Department of State reported Israel receiving more military aid than the rest of the world combined.

Go to the late XIX century and ask people "Do you think we will ever see an end to the conflicts in Europe? Do you think every country will content itself with their own state or allow their nations within to have their own states?"

Of course there will be an end... When one wipes the other out... So yeah, bye Palestine, thanks for playing.

It's not so nearly clear cut. In direct military aid, in terms of we buy stuff and give it to them, or we pay for their R&D (like Iron Dome) yes. But they are far outstripped by other, larger Allied military spending, chief among them the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, of which they are only a junior partner.

Really depends how you look at the numbers. Frankly, the US and Germany just have less need for direct aid. Parternership and Cost Sharing is more appropriate there.

they were supposed to pay for that themselves but we somehow bacame partners and they are the only country that doesnt have to disclose what they do with their aid. Furthermore they are the only country that can take that money and use it to pay us with which they are doing in the F-35 venture. No other country has these immunities and secret deals.

It really doesn't matter. It's just a few billion dollars, and it's a side show anyway. And they'll only ever fly a few dozen F-35s. We'll fly thousands, and our allies hundreds at least. Again, they're junior partners. They (and UAE and Singapore) get the F-16 production line open for years after the USAF stopped buying, bridging the gap to the F-35. So it worked out for everyone.

East Asia matters. The Middle East doesn't. The 21st Century isn't going to be decided in the middle of the desert, in a place with 1/15th world population and 1/63rd world GDP.

So long as the Palestinians play their cards right, sooner or later the world will be fed up with Israels attitude and force them to comply through sanctions or intervention. Only ones that can prevent that is the US, and I honestly don't think the world should let them.

None really cares, that support you see from world leaders is just Political correctness, especialy during Abbas's visits, behind the scenes NO ONE really gives a damn, especialy the big players.
