new computer

hey guys ive just been shown a new pc by my mate and he recommends it as the one i have now is pure shit.

what im running now is a intel dual core 3GHZ 5800 with an amd hd 4350 gpu and 3GB RAM. i know its shit but it was a hasty buy as my old one blew up and i needed one sharpish and was tight for cash.

whats making me think its brilliant is the CPU as its meant to be one of the best goin he said and theres 8GB ram in it but i have another 3 i can put into it to boost it to 11GB, and he thinks the graphics card aint amazing but its one of the better ones you would get built in to a machine. and yes id be gettin the screen aswell cos at the mo ive a shitty 19" that is a 1280X1060 max on that 4350

can anyone shed some light on this and tell me if he is shittin me or if it is a good deal. also i cant do a part buy and build as i dont know how to and dont know anyone who does either...

AMD Radeon HD 7570 graphics card is junk for any new computer that is intended for gaming.
300W power supply would prevent any meaningful upgrade.

If you post with what you require of the PC, budget, country people can help find a decent pre-built do your needs. That PC is likely overpriced for what it is and pre-builts that don't list exact parts often have cheap parts.

budget would prob be about what that costs £750 and im UK based. it would be used for surfin, gamin (but not major hardcore gaming. id be happy to play on med/high ultra doesnt really bother me) games range from wow and starcraft to deux ex HR, batman etc. but is the processor thats in it any good the AMD A10 - 5700

The AMD trinity chips are best in budget builds where you don't want to spend out a lot on graphics cards, something like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=FS-247-OE with Win 8 and an upgrade on the graphics card to the 7770 will be much better, I'm sure others will have some other suggestions using other sites.

I'd suggest staying away from PC World, terribly overpriced even after their so called "savings" and they tend to really skimp out on the power supply and graphics card.
I know you don't know how to build a PC, but it is incredibly easy and thanks to the forum peeps on this site, I've managed to build my first PC a couple of weeks ago! I suggest you give it a try though, as the performance per pound you get is much better.

If you have to get a pre-built though I'd stay away from PC-World. There a site (will need to google) PCspecialist.co.uk or something similar to that name, where you can pick what you want including a monitor, and buy it with even finance options if wanted.
I bought my last PC from PC World though, and I think I worked it out to being £300 more than it should be, with a power supply that died on me.
