    Card Upgrade [Specific]

I know that there are a lot of post about upgrades but I am looking for a specific brand and questioning SLI or not.

Current cards are 2 EVGA GTX 465's Superclocked

    What I am looking for:
    • Cards that can run generally cool (My current cards range from 60-80 Under 80%+ load Which is fine but they struggle to keep cool under their own fans and I had to add a side fan to help keep the temps down.
    • EVGA card only ( I could list the reasons but I just generally trust the company and have had no problems with returns or warranty UNLESS you can convince me otherwise)

    What I am debating:
I often play BF3, Wow, GW2, and plan to play Crysis 3
With the cards I have I can push BF3 Ultra at 14FPS or High on 30ish and am looking to get more. Would I benefit Using SLI or just Having one powerful card.

Looking at any cards right now to get an idea. No set price but the best for my money.. No just buying the most expensive.

    Additional Specs:
    I7-2600 3.4GHZ
    16GB ram
    x64 Windows
    Corsair HX750 PSU

These 2 points doesn't really match, EVGA is knows for mostly using reference coolers which are not that good at cooling. I can understand that you want to go with EVGA for their really good warranty though.
If you go with EVGA I would suggest you look into the Signature 2 series since they have a better cooler, it still isn't as good as other brands though.

I also think that going with one powerful card is better than 2 less powerful since you avoid the hassle that comes with SLI (Bad scaling, drivers issues and so on).

If you want to play Crysis 3 on max settings with 60FPS you kind of need SLI though, a single GTX 680 will give you around 40FPS on max settings at 1920x1080.
    Intel i5-3570K @ 4.7GHz | MSI Z77 Mpower | Noctua NH-D14 | Corsair Vengeance LP White 1.35V 8GB 1600MHz
    Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Windforce 3X @ 1372/7604MHz | Corsair Force GT 120GB | Silverstone Fortress FT02 | Corsair VX450

EVGA has the hottest running cards of any maker due to them using only reference designs. So you either need to forget about wanting cool running cards or go with another brand.
    i7-4770k - GTX 780 Ti - 16GB DDR3 Ripjaws - (2) HyperX 120s / Vertex 3 120
    ASRock Extreme3 - Sennheiser Momentums - Xonar DG - EVGA Supernova 650G - Corsair H80i

If EVGA is what you want, GTX 670 FTW Signature 2 is probably the best choice IMO. The standard 670 FTW isn't too shabby either. Both use the 680 PCB, but the standard ftw has the 680 cooler, while the FTW Sig2 has the nicer dual fan cooler.

Okay, thank you all for the responses. So is there a specific brand that any of you can recommend. I just don't like having the the cards always running loud trying to keep cool. One of my first cards was a Gigabyte that they would not replace because they could not produce the artifact that I had, and sent HD pictures to them. Regardless if the cards run good and they don't break there is still that chance and I don't want to take the risk honestly. If someone has an account that they are provided good service and can get a card better then EVGA offers then I am all ears!

I would definitely suggest Asus for quietness and reliability.

The strongest single card for crysis 3 is 7970 ghz I believe.

If you haven't pre-ordered crysis 3 then your just getting the game free, which is a awesome deal right there!

with 3 out of 4 games being nvidia favored games performance wise a 670 might be a wiser choice.
also heard allot of bad things in regards to coil whining in gigabyte gpu's.

I too have heard the windforce gigabyte GPU's are louder then other aftermarket GPU's. I would either go with ASUS DCII or MSI Twin Frozr series.

When the 7970Ghz is on pair with the 680 or better in some cases how do you justify saying the 670 is better performance wise?

5% slower and 25% cheaper than 680 is what justifies 670. It's not faster but 680 is really really bad value for money.
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.

True, but they are 70-80 bucks more expencive.

Also the gigabyte is a excellent card that comes with 2 free games - Crysis 3 which the OP wants to play is like 70 $ ? 430 - 70 = 360 for the card? He will not find anything better price/performance than that ....

I was under the impression (from that comment) that you didnt know they made Ghz versions But yeah, the gigabyte is by far the cheapest, and best choice.
