You can only transmog items you can equip tho, so no DKs with staves.
But it still opens up a lot of possibilities, yes.

Yeah unfortunately it's best 2H in the tier for blood, but not overly fantastic for any DPS - suppose it's a little better for Ret or Unholy than it is for Frost or Arms, or Fury obviously. The choices are mastery/expt polearm, crit/mastery axe (mmm deja vu), haste/crit sword, and hit/crit sword.

I plan to use it anyway because HELL YEAH POLEARM. With luck it will drop early in the tier.

yes, but with the changes to gargoyle, and our T15 4p, mastery on a UH dk is valued a lot higher than on a 2H frost dk, and wil lbe quite close to crit
