they closed it just because they thought it would be safe to do that because ive had my account hacked before that. well to get it back appernatly i have to print out a sheet and fill it out and mail it to them or scan it and email it to them. why such a hassle ? couldnt i just fill it out online or something. who here thinks this is stupid as fuck? i mean im not a huge fan of wow anymore but leveling is at least always fun with a friend and pvp is always fun like dueling

I had to do this once too, because somebody else figured out my secret question, my email password, etc. I'm glad they close it like this and require me to send in my ID to change all my info, but I hate how much of a hassle it is.

Security measures in place to try to protect you. By making it a bit of a hassle, it makes it easier for them to be sure it's you, not someone else. I guess.

sooo....was it more of a hassle for this or when youaccount was hacked?
is it really that hard to fill out a paper and email it to them? what is that...8, maybe 10 minutes of time to get your account back safe and sound with all your shit in tact?
and to KEEP IT THAT WAY?

Yeah, its sad. If I ever had to go through this to get my WoW account back..well I might just say goodbye. On the otherhand if I jump through hoops to get my account back..well than I know I have a problem and WoW has too much of a hold on me.

I had my account banned because apparently it was suspected for having been hacked. But I didn't have to do all that stuff to get it back, I just went through the normal password change and stuff. I added an authenticator after that as added security. Originally Posted by Tauren
A friend of mine had to do this ID scan thing though. Make sure the picture is very clear and visible, or they won't accept it.
