Could work, but you'd need a behavioural specialist to figure out if it was worth it, along with some statistical analysis over when people drop subs, specially the ones that drop between expansions.

It could work for them if it keeps people subscribing, at the end of the day every person that's subscribing is a potential friend of someone who's friend got them into the game, which is another big cash drop and regular income for them.

To be worth it, they just need someone to be subscribing for 3-4 months more than they otherwise would, which isn't a huge ask, specially if they add in a 6 month commitment, you could even say the 'worth' is lower, as its reliable income for them that's easier to plan around.

    So it's the annual pass?

I dunno, that went over kind of... blah. Some liked it, some got it for the stuff, some thought it was a scheme to lock in subscribers for the year without content.

    It makes me sick, really.

inb4 the business majors come along and say that you're supposed to treat your customers right by giving out free stuff, blah, blah, blah. No.
Why does it make you sick, and think it's a bad idea? People who have been a sub since the VERY first beginning of WoW should AT LEAST get something for being such long subscribers.

Having some sort of some system that grants you more of something the longer you're subbed would be awesome. RuneScape has such system where you gain points monthly for vanity stuff.

    It's unfair.

Personally I'd prefer it if long-term (Say 3-4 years minimum or the time between 2 expansions) customers were given access to the expansion a week earlier than the rest. Trade-off would be you can't earn Server First Level 90!/profession achievements if you opt in for earlier access.

Just something to reward older subs that doesn't give them a ridiculous advantage (Such as stats or buffs). Raids can be postponed until the rest of the population have the game released, so the WF Race is still there for people to fight over and the PvP gear isn't released until the season begins anyway.

Either that or access to now-unavailable, removed or just unused transmog reclours.

Apparently because they played longer then anyone else.

After what happened during the last annual pass i will not be signing another one. If they offer another one i'll probably unsub; being suspicious that they're not releasing any new content for the duration of the annual pass.

Why? Why should they get something extra for being a "long term subscriber"?
