Yeah. Me and two other mods suggested that.

The red was really, really awful to have, it was so freaking intrusive like you said. People always make added posts in Gen OT all the time and having that awful red on your face was just... no. :|

I actually tried several layers but I didn't know how to work with them... I like made one effect on one layer, then another on another layer but then either of those two didn't show up in the end. Linking and merging both didn't seem to work either so I just used one layer for everything.

Fiddle more! And you also need to fiddle with transparency. Otherwise, the top layer will just completely override everything else.

Yeah, the top layer was always overriding the lower one but I have no idea what the transparency thing is... :/

Also, I can't stress this enough but my photoshop is Elements 5, from 2006. I don't even know if that's good or not to do what Justin, you and PaulDok do. :/

Yes, I had to cut each icon out from the original image and then carefully line them up.
