Oh yes, when Heart of Fear opened in LFR. Garalon was quite hard for a raid who had little to no idea what the boss does. After he was nerfed to be on par with the rest of the bosses, he is not too bad anymore.
"There is a pervasive myth that making content hard will induce players to rise to the occasion. We find the opposite. " -- Ghostcrawler
"The bit about hardcore players not always caring about the long term interests of the game is spot on." -- Ghostcrawler
"Do you want a game with no casuals so about 500 players?"
Garalon when It first opened on LFR, after about the 3rd wipe had a druid that joined in and took charge and pulled the group though by the seat of their pants, before the fight he gave a good rundown of the fight for the ones that had not looked it up at all, asked 2 to run pheromones (my first time doing them). also at that point I think the group had kicked everyone that could not understand not to go into the center circle.
Yes last night I waited in the Que for over an hour to do the second half of hof. On the first boss with the crowd controlling, well the crowd controllers weren't doing a good job and we wiped probably 5 times.
Sometimes you get those impossible groups. Once wiped I think 4 times in a row on Spirit Kings in MSV.
"In life, I was raised to hate the undead. Trained to destroy them. When I became Forsaken, I hated myself most of all. But now I see it is the Alliance that fosters this malice. The human kingdoms shun their former brothers and sisters because we remind them what's lurking beneath the facade of flesh. It's time to end their cycle of hatred. The Alliance deserves to fall." - Lilian Voss
Yes, but those were generally right after a patch/raid was released and no one really knew the mechanics.
I can recall wiping multiple times on Ultraxion when tanks didn't know what to do and people refused to push their buttons (and on the trash before Ultraxion when people refused to taunt the drakes down), on Spine of Deathwing when people didn't realize you didn't need to roll him in LFR and attempted it which just resulted in everyone flying off, and on Garalon the first week it was released when people didn't understand crush or pheremones.
Stuck through my first madness run... 8 wipes with a bitch healer that refused to heal and can't be kicked because there were far worse baddies that needed to be booted. Finally won when in the end.
I usually leave after 1 wipe. If people (I wont lie, it's USUALLY tanks) can't be bothered to read the dungeon journal, I don't particularly want to play with them.
I had one guy on Sha where it went like this:
Me: "Hey tanks, do you know what to do on this? Speak up now if you don't"
Tank1: "Yeye been here before"
No reply from Tank2.
Tank1 pulls
Tank1 gets ported
Tank 2 isn't standing on the light, whole raid gets breathed on.
Wipe.
Had 1 wipe on elegon first week, because half the raid went for the dive and another at will, but other than that LFR has been wipe free for me
Once I hit the enrage timer on Feng. No joke.
Just yesterday we got Shek'zeer down to 8% even though one of the tanks had no idea when to taunt and then 3-4 healers died in a consuming terror (idk even know how). Next pull tanks get MC'ed again and we die at like 25%.
Your comments are duly noted and ignored.
I punch a hobo every time someone says 'it's not a rotation it's a priority list lol'.
2 weeks ago in ToT : 1 wipe on protectors (WTF ? O_o), 3 wipes on Tsulong, 1 on Lei-shi.
Worst ToT LFR ever. But I play on a EU-Fr server and french are amazingly bad at this game (~90% loose in random BG against UK or German for exemple). Wish my friends could talk a little english to switch on a UK server... (would even prefer a german server actually, but don't even ask a french how good his german is )
this is whats wrong with the wow community these days. I remember back in wrath, if there was a wipe, everyone would try to figure out what caused it and what we could do differently, whether it was a random pug raid or random heroic, since lfd was new. People would actually try to down bosses instead of, "Oh welp we wiped once, cya"
The only two times I can remember were one of each.
First time doing those stone dogs, everything seemed to be going smoothly. Then all of a sudden, everyone got petrified and couldn't move. There were a lot of insults getting thrown around, comments like "Haven't seen this happen since day one" and lots of people leaving. We regroup after they reset, and this time one of the tanks gets obliterated by something almost near the start. We finally got it on the third try when people said to just stack them all together instead of tanking them apart.
The other time was doing the bug commander with the 3 teams. Every time the hunters and rogues would set up their CC on the healers and we pulled, the CC would break and we'd get dragged into a long losing fight. After the second time that happened, some guy was spamming his CC breaker addon and saying a warlock was breaking the CC. The warlock played innocent and even started mocking the guy. He ended up getting vote-kicked a short time later and we finally beat the boss on the next try.
So I guess, a combination of people not knowing what to do, or just deliberately making life miserable for everyone.
