My point is that holding events for rich people where you're paying celebrities $500,000 for 45-second appearances have no place in a country with socioeconomics as fucked up as Africa. It's hard to draw the line at a specific point, but the situation is so overwhelmingly bad in Africa that this sort of thing is just unreasonable.
So because their countries are messed up they can't ever spend money on Entertainment. That is illogical. It also ignores the fact that the company that hired her is clearly making enough money to afford such a high price for one person. Why is it unreasonable that not every single cent goes towards charity? Do you know if the company that hired Kim didn't donate way more then that to help out the people of the country?

If we use the logic you are trying to put forth then anyone in the world is unreasonable. If you've spent money buying a video game you are just as unreasonable. Because that $60 dollars (standard US retail price) could have been used to feed a homeless or starving person in your country. And every country has problems some are just greater then others.

It isn't unreasonable, immoral, or anything else to spend the money you have on something that isn't charity. If this was stolen money, government funding diverted from charity, or profits from forced labor camps then you'd have a point. But Africans deserve to have quality entertainment and deserve the chance to spend money on such things if they can afford it. It as an event to showcase off regional and local talent.

It was no different then any other grand Hollywood party except for the location it happened. But you don't see people rallying against the spending in Hollywood when thousands of Americans are in poverty and/or starving every year. So why is it only an injustice in Africa?

I would kill to get 0.2% of that money she was given. Being paid 500,000 dollrs for a 45 second appearance to say a simple sentence is ridiculous.

The problem is that the Nigerian government is well known to be one of the most corrupt governments in Africa--if not the whole world. It's literally stealing from the people. Knowingly accepting money from this government should be highly looked down upon. If the British government gave her 500k I wouldn't care at all, as I know that that the British people could speak out and speak with their votes. But that's not a luxury Nigerian people have.

So, basicly, a porn star (and I'm kinda' using an euphemism here, she's a whore), 'celebrity' wannabe gets payed an obscene sum of money for basically nothing, while people are starving in the "streets".
What the f*** is wrong with our world? Are there any morals left?
    Discuss.
Wait... am I the only one who saw "500,000 benjamins" and wondered why the fuck someone would pay Kim Kardashian $50 million for anything?

Africa is FAR from beyond saving. The only reason it remains an issue is because the people that can make a difference simply don't care enough to do so because it doesn't affect them.

The Government didn't pay her. A private company throwing an theatrical event paid her.

    Have faith man.

Considering the fact that no legit attempt by any outside nation has been made fix the continents woes. I'd say it can be saved.

    Redundant.

If citizens in a country with so many woes sees 500k wasted on something so petty, they have every right to be pissed off. Period

Kim kardashian owes a mage in my guild like 4k for dental services he gave to her. No joke true story.
