KSK is the best loot system out there (unless you're in a top-end progression guild and are loot counciling). Isn't random like just rolling on gear, doesn't have any of the hoarding, upkeep, or drama issues that come along with DKP systems, and is perfectly fair.

Loot council. We always ask who needs an item, unless it's a clear choice (tanking shield goes to the only shield tank etc). When several people needs an item, we decide based on the upgrade, can someone get 2/4p bonus, raider>trial but never GM/Officer>anyone else.

The progression of the guild is far more important than gearing greedy people and luckily we don't have loot whores in my guild.

Loot council. Some people will say they can be biased, but that's not as possible when they factor in the following figures:

    Attendance
Number of loot previously received for MS
The upgrade margin of the item being replaced
How 'good' the item is, in terms of BiS lists (yes, there isn't one single answer to this, so we ask if people have any other comments to make when needing)

Then of course, there's discussion about performance, which can get complicated, so we'd like to use a combination of all factors as much as possible. So far, it's worked out for the past 3 years with little to no drama/people quitting because of it

As a primarily social group kind of guild, we roll, discuss within the group and collectively conclude who should get what. Primarily it tends to come down to topics like "who gets the best upgrade" (from blue to 522 epic tends to get higher prio than from 496) or "who got the last piece?". That is, if there even is a discussion in the first place. Most of the time, the roll decides without any ensuing drama.

We run loot council. General priority is to gear up the tanks and healers first to the point where the tanks and the raid are no longer dying to normal damage, and then gear the dps next. This generally results in the first few clears of a raid going to tanks/healer and then subsequent clears going to dps. In practice however being a 10man guild, the vast majority of the loot that drops only applies to at most 2 players, short of tier tokens, and those 2 players will very regularly pass loot to one another freely. If 2 DPS haven't won anything yet, and have the same item and the same stat priorities, then we have them roll. This is under the assumption that the next piece they both need will very likely go to the person who lost the roll. We maintain no logs of who got what, but just keep a general idea of the spread in the back of our minds.

For a 10man guild I think EPGP, DKP, SuicideKings, or anything else besides loot council or rolls is wasted effort. I see the merit of DKP/EPGP in a 25man guild, especially where tracking loot that players get would be tedious. Really it all comes down to having a balanced roster. If 40% of your raid wants the same piece every time something drops because you run 2 mages and 2 warlocks, you're gonna have a bad time.

A modified DKP system in our 25m, with a 4 week rolling reset to prevent hoarding. It keeps things relatively efficient, as we don't have 3-5 minutes to ponder every drop from a boss in a council situation. We spend enough time switching people in and out between bosses. The mod takes care of it.

With a mature guild the need before greed system(ask if anyone needs before needing for offspec) is best in my opinion. Yes, occasionally the random fill-in player will win something over someone who's there all the time, but the alternative is creating a system where the "fill in" players feel like they're just being used so the group can keep going with no chance of a reward.

The random roll system already favors those who show up more because they will have more chances at the loot anyway. Plus, someone who's only being brought in as a last resort is doing the group a favor by filling a spot the normal member couldn't. Let them have their moment in the sun before your regular member comes back and they are benched once again.

We use EPGP with mostly default weights and costs with just a few "personalizing". Never had problems.

    Need/greed.

We talk about who could use it more, or if someone has won a few pieces already they will pass on it.

If we have to pug in someone else, they are fine with passing on loot to main raiders if needed (helpful for when we're pushing for realm firsts)

    we're a 10 man guild,
and we have 5 people in a single tier.
our looting revolves around, bribing, insults, drama, and threats.
and in the end we still love each other.

we generally quickly discuss it when something drops.

is it a BiS for anyone? if yes, that person is priotized.
incase more or none have it as BiS, then we look who has the worst version of the item that dropped. if all people are about equal in it, we either give it too the one who has the lowest ilvl or just all hit need and let RNG decide it.

so far it worked very well. but sometimes we're too polite and keep passing for each other so the officers call us out on making a decision already .

Free for all with our core raiding group.
Loot council when running with trials and alts.
There is reallt no need to set rules for us, an upgrade for a core raider is an upgrade to the raid.

Pretty much the same. Nearly all of people in my raid guild are 25+. When we raid, we want to achieve something, and the loot is just abonus. We are all happy when a member of our group gets some nice stuff.

We use Karma. It's pretty cool, it's like DKP - but it's not a guarenteed win for having more Karma points - they just are added to your roll, we still roll on drops. You are awarded Karma points in exactly the same way as dkp; showing up on time, staying, playing, downing bosses. Example:

Two people roll on a drop Player 1 rolls 65, Player 2 rolls 44. Player one has 20 Karma - Player 2 has 50 Karma. In this case Player 2 wins with a lower roll because the rolls end up being Player 1 (85), Player 2 (94). Karma can not go over 100= max Karma. I like it better than DKP because it gives the person with no or less Karma still a chance to win... if the gods of RNG are present that is
