Part of the island sealed off, but not really

There is this part at the north of the Thunder Isle thingie which is walled off and the gate is closed. Is that supposed to be the new raid? That new forge is there, too. And it's the only place on the island that had some pets left Anyway, why all the walls and gates when you can just stroll in through the mines?

The northmost area is supposedly the raid. The other "locked off" parts are ones the server has to unlock... though you can get into the "locked off" areas without much difficulty. However, the locked off areas are just filled with normal/quest hostile NPCs... I haven't seen any rares or caches in those areas, and the thunderforge doesn't serve any use yet.
